Bung, wife arrested for alleged graft, abetment - MACC
Kinabatangan MP Bung Moktar Radin was detained by the MACC for alleged graft this morning.
In a statement, the MACC confirmed that Bung's wife, Zizie Izette Abdul Samad, was also nabbed.
"The MACC has received permission from the Attorney-General's Chambers to charge former Felcra non-executive chairperson Bung Moktar Radin and his wife Zizie Izette Abdul Samad at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court on May 3.
"Bung and Zizie are about to be charged under Section 17(a) and Section 28(1)(c) of the MACC Act 2009," said the commission, adding the duo were freed on bail following their arrest.
Section 17(a) of the act deals with offences by a commercial organisation, and Section 28(1)(c) with abetment.
According to the statement, Bung was arrested at the Sabah MACC office at 10.50am, while his wife was nabbed at the commission's office in Putrajaya at 11.15am, after they were questioned regarding graft allegations in Felcra.
Earlier today, Malaysiakini quoted an MACC source confirming the arrests over alleged graft amounting to several millions of ringgit.
"The MP may face three graft charges, while his wife will face charges for abetment," the source had said.

PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad today confirmed that Abdul Hamid Bador will be the new inspector-general of police.
“Yes I think it is him,” he told reporters after launching the national Labour Day celebrations at Putrajaya International Convention Centre today.
When asked if the appointment letter had already been sent to Abdul Hamid, who is currently acting deputy inspector-general of police, Mahathir said “I think the Agong has consented to it”.
Abdul Hamid, who was formerly deputy head of the Special Branch, went on early retirement in 2015 after he spoke up against the previous government’s alleged involvement in certain scandals.
In May last year, he was recalled by leaders of the new Pakatan Harapan government and appointed Special Branch director.
Last month, he took over as acting deputy IGP when Noor Rashid Ibrahim retired.

What I meant was those who sell for half a cent profit but you at 3 cents is a good profit and I congratulate you for that.Brother, if you can try to buy back some and maybe better profits are on the way as the BIMB 1st quarter results will be out end of next month and EPS will be more than 10 cents for this quarter, so expect the mother to rise further and when mother goes up, the son too will follow.Remember brother Abba84, we have cross the $4.72 cents conversion rate.
