Just watched Mahathir live session on "sesi penerang khas kerajaan baru" which he repeated states the priority of the new govt is to focus on business friendliness. And also stop all unreasonable claims of income tax from the IRB on companies. So this is a positive development for Magnum on its case with IRB. Which is utterly and totally unreasonable tax claim from the IRB. High chance that IRB will withdraw back it's claim or the court will side with Magnum.

The best thing about investing in BJ Toto now is that the govt still don't allow online buying for BJ Toto yet. If one day it get approved, the price will go up. But of course, the one day is don't know when...

If you really want to earn profit in shares (that is capital gain + dividend). Go for Nestle, Dutchlady. But mind you, the annual dividend is very low. So it's like this, there's no perfect share out there. You want high dividend yield, you get low capital gain or even high capital loss. But if you want steady capital grow over long term period, you get low dividend yield. Just like buying a landed property vs condo. Landed property is low rental yield but long term capital gain. Condo is high dividend yield but no capital gain or even capital loss. So deal with it. It's the real world. You want high capital grow, invest in cryptos with the potential 10X capital gain but then again, you might loss you capital as well. Welcome to the real world.

I have done some research. Price of BJ Toto on 2/1/2005 was at RM3.8919 per share. Total dividend collected from 31/1/2005 quarter to 31/1/2015 quarter was RM3.0841 per share. So if you hold until today, one share price is RM2.18 + all dividend collected per share RM3.0841 = RM5.2641 less original share price bought back in 2/1/2005 RM3.8919 = RM1.3722. So technically you still "earn" RM1.3722 per share without taking into consideration of opportunity cost loss and ringgit purchasing power loss.

Come next monday sure the price will rocket up!

So the public sentiment is not in favor of IRB's aggressive manner in going for tax collection. So it's in favor for Magnum in it's case against IRB
