Oil is hovering at USD89...that's going to eat margin. EU has just labelled natural gas as green, and this will open up demand for o&g from funds previously locked out of o&g investments due to esg criteria, so don't expect the oil price to come down. As omicron subsides, demand will increase so we can expect jet fuel to be at premium prices for a very long period.

There will be a lag between the time oil stabilizes at a high price, and when the actual upstream capex starts flowing. To Sapura's benefit, EU is classifying natural gas as green, so this opens up large investment funds that were previously blocked from investments in oil and gas

Can't believe folks are still paying 0.60 for this. AA is a good buy at about 0.1x

Newmanso, the social media story on AA food delivery is a very different picture. Many unhappy customers. Unlike Grab, the moment you order, you are charged. As such, when the merchant is unable to make / rider not available, AA will have to refund, and it takes time for AA to refund. Some claim that they have not received a refund for >1mth. Grab on the other hand only charges you after the rider registers successful delivery. I am not too optimistic about AA going into food delivery. There are 41 food delivery apps on the market now. AA may be a good buy at about 0.1x

Folks are still buying AA at 0.59. So much better to put $$$ into SAPNRG rather than AA.

AA still at 0.62 while SAPNRG is 0.05 - SAPNRG has net asset value per share of 0.48, oil price is steady above 70 for a number of months. It will be a years before flight travel resumes for tourism internationally to pre-pandemic levels; the changing regulations, testing costs, travel insurance, etc. are a pain. Business travels have forever changed - businesses have discovered they can save much in flight/hotel/per diem by getting staff to work remotely, while their customers are understanding of the same. Don't see any upside for AA, there is tremendous upside for SAPNRG.

EU has decided that power generated from natural gas is green energy https://www.voanews.com/a/eu-moves-to-label-nuclear-gas-energy-as-green-/6378204.html

It takes time to turn the big ship around, need to look at direction now, rather than absolutes of loss/revenue. It's not realistic to expect profit so soon, especially given the large exposure (RM0.5b in total) due to covid related costs. what is required is sustainable profits, quarter over quarter. not a swing between profits and losses from one quarter to the next which creates anxiety and uncertainty. it takes time to reach this point of sustainable profitability.

Well said @Charles222. Will take time to turn the big ship around, and 70-80 oil price is great environment to do this in

it's not only about how high but how steady it is. when it remains steady at a certain value more FIDs are made and hence capex will get spent. better for industry for prince to remain at 70-80 than jump up and down

sapura will not immediately benefit from high oil price. once the price stabilizes at a high level, capex funding will be slowly released from super-majors and JVs through FIDs. with this, the long-term contract awards to EPCC start to happen. there is a lag, but the benefit will come.
