That has nothing to do with gov, gov has to pump in RM2bil and potentially another RM2bil for Bstead to pay its debts which are due soon. So why gov want this deal to fail? Its KLK that does not see meat in this transaction. Bplant is basically empty without the 2 pieces of land which doesnt get transferred to KLK.

Felix, i think u dont understand how dividend works. MBB is generous in div payments, hence the price movements will be lesser, to compare total gains, u need to add both price appreciation and dividend payout and not price movements alone.

After this, they can just follow the same bstead playbook tricks to sapu the shares from the market

LTAT wants a special price for the lion share they hold, not to forget the land was theirs initially… so it’s impossible they will be happy with an offer which is same as wht it’s to those retail investors…

Sslee, thts wht I suspected, MGO is an event which requires concurrent suspension. However if it falls below the MGO threshold, no MGO hence KLK can offer Bplant at any price without worry…

That was wht I was thinking yesterday. I did a search on the potential suitors for any concurrent suspension request but can’t find any. It could also means market cap of bplant of 3b is immaterial as compared to market cap of KLK of 24b. BUT this logic does not hold water as IJM Plant market cap was 2.7b then

U might think underlying CPO business not important, others might see it as important as it impacts dividend payout, which even if get trap buying high, at least there are sustainable good dividend as consolation without the need of executing exit strategy. U might see LTAT will only agrees if the offer is above RM2, some are happy if it’s RM1.20, RM1.50. If u r so confident in bplant, why wait for 60 sen? Go all in now thn…

Lets see, the wait will not be long from now. There are so much considerations to be made in such a short time for YTL to come out with the tender price if they were to take up all bplant land.

John, YTL is buying the land for non plantation purposes, any CPO price up will only up the expected sales price by LTAT, which will make the negotiation to be harder. And if the reports on YTL buying the land for data centre are true, this would only mean YTL will only be interested in part of bplant land and not its entirety. Not all land are suitable for data centre, especially those in Sabah and Sarawak.

Diu, u still don’t understand. Wht is the pre-requisite of mandatory take over? So if thinking u r getting the same offer as per LTAT makes u happy and at peace, so be it. You will NOT be getting the same offer!

To trigger offer to retail, acquirer must first strike a deal with LTAT for their 70%+, which can be a generous price… when mandatory triggers, they price term normally is % over VWAP, but as acquirer already controls more than 50%+1, no push factor for acquirer to successfully control the balance
