Genting Hong Kong Ltd says it has agreed to sell up to 35 percent of its Dream Cruises business to a subsidiary of TPG Darting Ltd. Genting Hong Kong, a subsidiary of Malaysian operator of casinos Genting Bhd, operates cruise ships with casinos on board, embarking passengers mainly at ports in southern China and Singapore.

8 AUG- Pemex has seen wide interest from companies following the launch of an international public tender to provide two drilling platforms for the Maloob field, called Maloob-E and Maloob-I.

A pair of meetings held to address questions around the pre-qualification process drew 19 attendees at the first and 21 at the second.

The list of players asking questions included Sapura, Permaducto, Operadora Cicsa, Ica Fluor, Subtec, Commsa, Eseasa, Dragados Offshore, Hoc Offshore and Arendal.

8 AUG- India’s state-controlled Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) is preparing to fire the starting gun on a substantial offshore tender process involving the further development of its Daman gas project on the west coast, with the contract likely to be valued at about $1 billion.

Some of the players that are likely to join the race are Indian engineering giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T), compatriot Afcons, Malaysia’s Sapura Energy, Vietnam’s PTSC, Abu Dhabi’s National Petroleum Construction Company, Italy’s Saipem, US giant McDermott and potentially other yards from Asia.

RHB Research is neutral on the proposals and believed that the total acquisition price of US$180mil (RM754mil) for GenM to own 49% of ER via the proposed JV was insignificant, at c.3.5% and 4.3% of GenM’s market cap and net assets.

“While the acquisitions are not value accretive (at 1.9x P/BVvs GENM’s current P/BVof 1.2x) and may negatively affect our earnings forecasts, the acquisition price appears to be fair compared to the potential GGR of over USS$200mil and US$1bil cost to construct RWC,” it said.

The research house added that undertaking a similar greenfield expansion of such a scale (along with a licence) would likely cost more, based on its estimates.

RHB has reiterated its “buy” call on GenM with an unchanged SOP-derived target price of RM4.40, 22% upside plus 4.4% FY19F yield

31 Jul - Brazilian state-controlled company Petrobras has fired the starting gun in a multi-million dollar tender to contract a rigid riser-based subsea system to serve the Buzios-5 project in the Santos basin pre-salt province

Multiple sources told Upstream that Petrobras has invited subsea players including Italy’s Saipem, UK-based TechnipFMC, Oslo-listed Subsea 7, Allseas of Switzerland, US-based McDermott International and Malaysia’s Sapura Energy to submit commercial proposals

9 May- At least six offshore engineering, procurement and construction players are understood to be in the frame for the fifth development phase of Qatar Petroleum’s (QP) Idd Al Shargi North Dome (ISND) oilfield in the Persian Gulf.


The Qatari player plans to award the fast-track offshore project by July, the source added.

Those understood to have received tenders include US giant McDermott, China's Offshore Oil Engineering Corporation (COOEC), Vietnam’s PTSC, Malaysia’s Sapura Energy and Indian engineering major Larsen & Toubro (L&T).

29 May- FIVE offshore contractors are understood to be preparing bids for a new tender from Qatar’s North Oil Company (NOC) covering offshore facilities for the second stage of its Gallaf project that involves the further development of Al Shaheen oilfield.

Those thought to have received tenders from the Qatari player include Italy’s Saipem, McDermott of the US, Malaysia’s Sapura Energy, Vietnam’s PTSC and Indian engineering giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T), sources said.

Sources said TechnipFMC, Sapura Energy and a third party are expected to respond later this month to an invitation to bid for a contract comprising the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of 117 kilometres of 26-inch diameter pipeline that will collect and transport gas from the Su Tu Trang field, the Sao Vang–Dai Nguyet fields, and potentially other fields.

The contractor for phase one was Sapura Energy subsidiary TL Offshore.

3 Jul- Qatar Petroleum (QP) is understood to have received four bids for work on the fifth development phase of its Idd Al Shargi North Dome (ISND) oilfield in the Arabian Gulf.

17 Jul- Saudi Aramco has started the chase for three substantial offshore contracts involving its Zuluf, Abu Safah, Berri and Safaniyah offshore oilfields, with the trio together likely to be worth $1 billion.

The new offshore jobs offered by Aramco have been floated as a part of the kingdom’s long-term agreement (LTA) arrangement that comprises nine offshore contractors.

The new LTA tenders offered by Aramco are expected to be highly competitive after the addition last year of four new players to the prestigious arrangement.

Malaysia’s Sapura Energy, China’s Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC), a pairing of United Arab Emirates-based Lamprell and Dutch player Boskalis, and the grouping of UK-based TechnipFMC and Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering were confirmed as the new entrants in the LTA arrangement.

24 Jul- India’s state-controlled Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has floated the much-awaited tender for a key process platform required for its Ratna and R-Series development off the country’s western coast.

Multiple project watchers told Upstream that ONGC recently issued tender documents for the offshore process platform facility, with technical and commercial offers likely to be submitted on 9 October.


Several leading EPCI contractors including Indian engineering giant Larsen & Toubro, domestic player Afcons, Malaysia’s Sapura Energy, McDermott of the US, Abu Dhabi’s National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) and Vietnam’s PTSC are expected to show interest in the new tender.

25 Jul- Anglo-Dutch supermajor Shell is within weeks of finalising the offshore builders that will compete for the big processing platform that anchors the Crux gas project off Western Australia.

China’s Offshore Oil Engineering Company, US player McDermott and Singapore’s SembCorp Marine look certain to make the shortlist, with one of either Saipem, Larsen and Toubro or Sapura Energy in with a chance if the shortlist is widened to four, said sources.

It is understood that one or more of the contract contenders is being supported by detailed design partners.
