Bumi Armada secures USD1.2 billion facility for FPSO Armada Olombendo
Malaysia-listed offshore services provider, Bumi Armada has secured a syndicated facility worth USD1.2 billion for floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) Armada Olombendo, operating in Angola.

The facility includes a term loan, a standby letter of credit and a bank guarantee which was signed by Armada Cabaca, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bumi Armada.

The financing mechanism will allow Armada Cabaca to part-finance the oil exploration and production project, as well as other costs related to the operation of FPSO Armada Olombendo in Angola.

Upon securing the facility, FPSO Armada Olombendo will be deployed to block 15/06 East Hub Field Development off Angola in fulfilling its charter contract to exploration and production company, Eni Angola.

Eni Angola, in turn is a wholly-owned unit of Italy-headquartered Eni S.p.A., for the charter, operation and maintenance of the FPSO Armada Olombendo to a consortium of Bumi Armada Offshore Holdings (BAOHL) and Angoil Bumi, a joint venture company.

According to IHS’s Sea-web.com, Bumi Armada owned around eight FPSOs including Armada Olombendo with IMO number 9178757. The 1999-bulit, 301,963 deadweight tonne (dwt) Armada Olombendo is registered under the flag of Marshall Islands and managed by BAOHL, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bumi Armada.
