Is it possible to use this 'i3investor forum' as market timing device ? Active participation, everybody talked like expert when stock going up - Time to sell. Inactive participation, very quite, nobody like to talk - Time to buy. Activity on this page is really slow. At the top of the page Calvin commented on 26/6, Next two comments on 29/6, then one on 1/7, two on 7/7 before mine on 11/7.

Sorry, based on Petaling Tin 2014 annual report released on 29 May, its 1,500 acres of land is valued at Rm 3.53 per sq ft.
2015-07-11 03:12 | Report Abuse
Another dead counter of CLK is Petaling Tin selling at 25 sens. Same as Kbnai, its 1,500 acres of land in Sabah valued only at 15 sens per sq ft. Personally I valued the stock at Rm 3.20.

A safer buy is FACB. Zero borrowing and with cash per share of Rm 1.74. It is selling at Rm 1.05. Thinly traded, very difficult to collect.

I am collecting for long-term. CLK converted his personal loan of Rm322 million for 2.9 billion Kbunai share valued at 11.11 sen a share and FACB converted its Rm35.6 million for 320 million Kbunai share also at 11.11 sen. When 1MDB and UMNO issues are over and bull started to run, Kbunai to reach 11.11 sens I think should not be a problem. But of course anything can happen in stock and I might be wrong. If I am wrong I blame nobody but if I am right I will be making tons of money. I shall keep my fingers crossed and wait for the bull.

FACB has Rm148 million cash and zero borrowing. No. of share is 85 million. Cash per share is Rm 1.74 without considering its other properties/manufacturing plants. Last Friday it is selling at Rm 1.10 and nobody wanted to take. Why ?

In a bear market, all counters are bad. In a bull market, there is no lousy counter. Just have to wait for the bull to run.

You read other people opinion, you digest and you decide to follow or not to follow. you make money, congratulation. you lose money, too bad for making a wrong decision. You don't start to scold people for your own wrong decision because of greed to make money. I observed that Calvin like to talk good about himself but he doesn't scold or talk bad about other despite being fired by so many people. On this alone Singaporean is one up over those (Malaysian ?) that know only how to fire.

Sorry sorry sorry is 5 sens per share after ex-bonus that is equivalent to 10 sens per share cum-bonus
2014-12-05 09:51 | Report Abuse
5% ex-bonus is EQUIVALENT to 10% cum-bonus. Not 5+10

KSL latest announcement - Dividend is 5% after ex-bonus. Equivalent to 10% now for a Rm 4.22 stock.

Fair Value gain is only Rm 11.57 million. That won't increase its Net Assets per share From Rm3.07 to Rm6.41. To increase to Rm6.41, Kuchai needs to increase its current assets of Rm 397 million (as reported) by another Rm 400 million. I think Rm6.41 is a mistake.
2014-11-28 09:34 | Report Abuse
Its net assets per share jumped from last quarter of 3.07 to this quarter of 6.41 is likely to be a mistake. Most likely the desk officer divide the assets by its share capital instead of divide by the number of shares. The face value of Kuchai share is 50 sens.

In my last 35 years of involvement with stocks, I have seen many stars at the market peaks but I have also seen many dead bodies at the market bottoms. I expect to see more dead bodies at the next bottom. It is good to be cautious. The wolf will finally come.

Even between small individual investors, the investment strategy for those having Rm100,000 or less and the investment strategy for those having Rm 1 million or more should be different.
2014-11-27 10:05 | Report Abuse
Never compare the performance and the investment strategy between small investor and big fund manager. It is a different ball games. Small investor can play until the last minute and still can get out when the bubble burst but big fund has to get out when he sensed danger and time is still good with many buyers around. If i-cap is 100% invested now, it may make another 10% by next year but if the assets bubble burst in 2015, i-cap is going to lose 50%.
Based on a report on 20/8/2014, in US individual investor holding of cash is at 14-year low however Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway cash holding id US$55 billion, an all time high. Warren Buffett has never hold so much cash before, why ? Click http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/08/20/us-saft-on-wealth-idUSKBN0GK29A20140820 to read the report.

Hahaha, as you have said, buy stocks is to make money, if I can see clearly I cannot make much out of i-cap, why should I touch it. Similarly I never touch unit-trust. I don't know TTB in person. But in the last 35 years of swimming in the stock markets, I came across lots of share analysts and economists. I find that TTB is quite honest and accurate and at least he is not a paid writer (A writer paid by someone to come out with an article for certain purpose). This is only my perception and of course I can be wrong.
2014-11-25 15:36 | Report Abuse
Sorry to have mislead you. I have no 'family sentiment' with TTB. The 'family' I wrote is only a figurative comparison for illustration purpose.
2014-11-25 15:14 | Report Abuse
If you think I-Cap is no good and the management is lousy, don't invest in i-cap. This apply to any other stocks, buy something else that you think is better. Frankly speaking I have never bought i-cap before and I will never touch I-cap in the future. The capital return is not expected to be good. There are many other solid stocks such as KSL with projected earning of 70 sens but is selling at 4.61. Farlim selling at 59 sens but has cash backing of 82 sens a share, zero borrowing and has other properties and 243 acres of land. 208 acres is at Kemaman valued at only 15 sens psf. And many others. I may not like i-cap but I do have my respect for TTB.

Based on what you can trust the Ang Moh. We know TTB for years. If you don't trust your family that hold a few hundreds millions of cash safely and you trust an outsider that come out of no where, you are asking for troubles. If I-Cap does not have that few hundred million of cash, do you think the Ang Moh will come. They are after the cash.

The assets bubble may burst anytime. The next collapse is going to be worst than the 2008 crisis. Unlike the small fish if I-Cap is fully invested, it cannot get out once the market is on its way down. One will appreciate when TTB has done when the bubble burst.

Be careful, buying warrant is also a 'double edged sword', if the price go down you lose more if you hold warrant. So in a down market, never hold warrant, you can ended up with nothing on expiry.
2014-11-13 15:40 | Report Abuse
Buy warrant can make more money if KSL moves higher after ex-bonus. If you buy KSL now at 4.60, after ex-bonus if it goes to 3.00 you make 100x(2x3.00-4.60)/4.6 = 30%. If you buy warrant now at 2.90 after ex-bonus with conversion at 80 sens. warrant price = 3.00-0.80 =2.40. Percentage gained is 100(2x2.40-2.90)/2.90 = 65%. And instead of buying 1 KSL you can buy 4.60/2.90 = 1.58 KSL warrant. For the same capital outlay you can make 65%x1.58 = 102% instead of 30%. Good Luck.

If the current correction failed to bring the price to below 47 sens and the next run-up can go higher than 52 sens, with luck, very likely, a new bull cycle has started.
2014-11-05 18:29 | Report Abuse
There is a strong possibility that the 47 sens low recorded on 16th Oct. 2014 is the end of its 54 months downtrend since April 2010 from its high of Rm 1.78. In the last 12 trading days since 16th Oct. It has form 5 little advancing waves with improved volume, hopefully this is the starting of its new long-term bull cycle.

2014-10-30 18:50 | Report Abuse
From its high of Rm 1.78 in April 2010 it dropped to a low of 47 sen in June 2014. On 16th October 2014 it closed at 47 sen again. It is too early to tell whether 47 sen is the base. It is sure very very cheap at 47 sen but if there is no indication that 47 sen is the bottom and that its 55 months long down trend has not ended, once the 47 sens is broken, it can go cheaper and cheaper.

One is talking about the past - that is why BJCorp is below 50 sens now. That is also why the price is close to its 2008/2009 financial crisis bottom now. Another one is talking about the future and its potential. But its fun.
2014-10-15 16:32 | Report Abuse
Be careful of the assets bubble. Once it burst, the market is going to be worst than the last financial crisis where Dow hit 6,547 at its lowest. Dow is at 16,321 now. If that happen, how low BJCorp will drop ? I wish I know.

I do agree with you that this is a potential goldmine. The best part is it is near its low since 2010, where to find. The only uncertainty is whether the assets bubble has burst and whether the Fed and central bankers decided it is time for the bubble to burst.

PMCorp is cash rich. It has Rm 137 million of cash and close to zero borrowing. Without considering its other assets and businesses, cash alone is already 18 sens. Every quarters it either made a little bit of money or lose a little bit. It is difficult for it to drop to 15 sens unless the market plunges.
