Prestige beauty has historically been less sensitive to economic downturns because it is a more-affordable luxury category and is driven by repeat purchases. Mr. Freda also noted that uniquely in China younger consumers are spending more than their parents on these products, and that as well helps guard the category against geopolitical and economic concerns.
