Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water constantly shifting his position and keeps dilly dallying

KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor Menteri Besar Mohammad Azmin Ali warned on Tuesday that if the Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water (MEGTW) Maximus Johnity Ongkili continues to blame the Selangor Government for the delay in the water deal, while constantly shifting his position on the matter, he has no choice but make public the demands the Federal Government was trying to impose on his administration.

“The Federal Government was deliberately delaying the agreement. This is highly irresponsible.”

Azmin was speaking on the sidelines of the Opposition MP’s emergency meeting at Parliament.

The Federal and Selangor Governments, said Azmin in citing one example, previously agreed that the water assets owned by concessionaires or CCWA would be transferred without the land.

“The agreement was reached. I received a letter from Maximus on 3 June, confirming it,” said Azmin. “But today, I received a notice from the Attorney- General’s Chamber’s demanding that the land be transferred as well.”

Azmin expressed disappointment that despite the series of meetings and discussions with the Ministers involved, including the Prime Minister and his Deputy, there’s no positive development on the water agreement, and the MEGTW was “dilly dallying” on the matter.

However, i think both fed and state is sitting on the same boat. Both cant fail the water restructuring issue. Both got interests to make it through. Otherwise, both suffers some lose somehow....Issue remain is Bila....Having holding power to play this dirty dance with politician is small fish only advantage.....curse those politicians, false dawns many times.

SHAH ALAM: There will not be any water rationing in Selangor, says Azmin Ali (pic).

In assuring this, the Mentri Besar said various measures were being taken to ensure consumers had sufficient supply.

Among the measures taken was building water tanks in high-risk areas, he said.

"Syabas (Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor) has been instructed to build water tanks in areas prone to water disruption," Azmin told reporters when met at the state secretariat Tuesday.

He said other measures included the Water Mitigation Project 2, where treated water from northern areas of Selangor would be channelled to the south.

"Treated water in the north of Selangor exceeds demand," he said, adding the situation was reversed in the south.

He said the project, a Federal Government initiative, was expected to be ready by September.

Azmin explained that Selangor had an ample supply of raw water in its dams, but faced a shortage of treated water as all water treatment plants were already working at maximum capacity.

On the state's water restructuring deal with the Government, Azmin said he had met Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Dr Maximus Ongkili last week to iron out three issues both parties could not agree on.

"The matter has been resolved but there is still one issue that needs to be agreed to by both parties," said Azmin.

He said the deal would be sealed between both parties within the month.

Azmin also added he met Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak after the National Finance Council meeting recently to get his and the Government's opinion on measures taken to settle the water restructuring deal.

Kerajaan harap isu air Selangor dapat diselesaikan sebelum raya

Kerajaan tiada sebarang masalah bagi memastikan perjanjian penstrukturan air di Selangor dapat dimuktamadkan sebelum Aidilfitri ini, sekali gus mendapatkan penyelesaian secara holistik berkenaan perkara tersebut.

Timbalan Menteri Tenaga, Teknologi Hijau dan Air, Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid (gambar, kiri) berkata setakat ini, hanya satu perkara lagi yang belum diselesaikan.

"Minggu lepas pegawai kementerian ada bermesyuarat dengan pegawai negeri Selangor, jadi saya ingat boleh kita selesaikan apa yang belum dirungkaikan itu.

"Kita dah tunggu lama, daripada dua tahun dulu, masih tunggu keputusan kerajaan Selangor, bila selesai semua ini, struktur air Selangor berjalan, Loji Rawatan Air Langat 2 juga akan berjalan," katanya kepada pemberita selepas menyampaikan bantuan dalam program Karisma Ramadan di Naka, dekat Padang Terap, hari ini.

Baru-baru ini, Menteri Besar Selangor Mohamed Azmin Ali  menulis surat kepada Timbalan Perdana Menteri Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin bagi memastikan beberapa isu berbangkit berhubung penstrukturan semula industri perkhidmatan air di negeri ini dapat diselesaikan segera.

Azmin berkata proses penstrukturan semula itu berada di peringkat terakhir dan beliau berharap ia dapat dimuktamadkan sebelum Aidilfitri ini.

Mengulas mengenai catuan air, Mahdzir berharap tiada catuan air yang dikenakan, memandangkan dalam keadaan umat Islam yang akan menyambut ketibaan Aidilfitri tidak lama lagi.

"Kita harap perkara ini tidak berlaku, ini saya tak berani cakap, terpulang kepada kerajaan Selangor urus, di peringkat kementerian kita cuba bantu untuk memberi keselesaan kepada penduduk," katanya. – Bernama, 4 Julai, 2015.

SHAH ALAM 2 Julai – Perjanjian utama berhubung penstrukturan industri air di negeri ini dijangka dimuktamadkan sebelum Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Menteri Besar, Mohamed Azmin Ali berkata, terdapat beberapa perkara yang kerajaan negeri dan Kerajaan Persekutuan masih belum mencapai kata sepakat.

Menurutnya, beliau telah menemui Timbalan Perdana Menteri, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin mengenai perjanjian berkenaan.

“Semalam, saya sempat bertemu dengan Timbalan Perdana Menteri yang juga Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Kabinet Khas Mengenai Isu Air Selangor dan pada hari ini saya juga telah menulis surat kepadanya sebagai susulan untuk pastikan satu, dua isu lagi dapat diselesaikan segera.

“Harapan saya, penstrukturan ini dapat dimuktamadkan sebelum Hari Raya,” katanya kepada pemberita selepas mempengerusikan Mesyuarat Majlis Tindakan Ekonomi Selangor (MTES) di sini hari ini.

Ditanya mengenai perkara-perkara yang masih belum selesai itu, beliau enggan mengulas lanjut.

Dalam pada itu, Mohamed Azmin turut berterima kasih kepada Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak kerana memberi kerjasama baik dalam memuktamadkan perjanjian air tersebut.

“Saya berterima kasih kepada Perdana Menteri dan Timbalan Perdana Menteri kerana memberi kerjasama untuk melihat usaha kerajaan negeri disegerakan dan menyokong usaha ini,” ujarnya.

Beliau turut memberi jaminan pelaksanaan catuan air di Hulu Langat dan Kuala Langat tidak akan dilaksanakan pada masa ini .

“Gangguan berlaku kerana kekurangan air terawat. Walau bagaimanapun tiada catuan setakat ini,” ujarnya.

Maybe in the end, poor khalid is the scapegoat. Azmin declare a higher water traffic increase to cover takeover cost due to poor handling of the water restructuring last six years. Blame it on khalid. I think this is the way forward...azmin must be thinking how to justify water traffic increase now to rakyat. Force takeover is time consuming...

If gamuda nod for 10% of splash nta, wonder how its independant adviser will justify to shareholder to approve the sales... hopefuuly not at puncak expenses.....
