rani .. waves are formed by peeps buying and selling / profit taking :) if u are in already, then just trail your profit based on preferred method .. say if u don't want to hold so long shud a retracement take place, then sell when price closes below 10EMA or break of trendline or break of previous candle low ... for some traders (eg mr otb who throws in FA to trade), he may only let go if price closes below 50EMA eg .. in this case, u must have holding power and a great deal of patience :)

but u still gotta monitor closely ... if price breaks above the upper boundary of the wedge, then this may nullify the first theory !! more so if break and then find support from the upper line, the bearish bias is negated

rani .. every wave goes thru' a cycle !! for sime; in terms of short-term waves on the hourly chart, quite likely the last wave 5 is terminating soon ... it's a rising wedge pattern which is very common ... u can also see that momentum is waning on this last push ... if u are still bullish bias longer term (based on daily or weekly), then u just have to brace the short-term retracement ie for price to find new equilibrium to move up !

oh alex ... based on entry price i think it's too tight !! no room for your counter to breathe eh ?? minimum is the candle low ... better still is the previous swing low but then affect position sizing

or u deduct 0.01 x 2 from previous swing low ?

alex .. how do u set based on ATR ?? let me show an example :-
1) say u buy counter ABC today at 0.95
2) the closing ATR of the candle is 0.01
3) the low of the candle is 0.90
4) so, u calc your SL as 0.90 less 0.01 x 2 ??

wow alex u use ATR(2) ... quite a big stop loss margin ??

oh rchi .. u are monitoring for a break out eh ??? if the vol builds up, think got good chance it will break and manage to hold the momentum ... the candles on 1H chart are slowly and steadily charting up hugging the 10EMA ... not like the big one on 23/1 (5pm) !

purebull ... weekly macd wud rise on wave 1 and then plunge on wave 2 probably below the zero line ... so, on start of wave 3 u wud see weekly macd GC ?

purebull ... u are aiming for the big elliott wave 3 ! so, purebull will monitor such counters :-
1) wave 1 - hold any temptation to buy
2) wave 2 consolidation - this will be in your watchlist monitoring for a breakout be it (a) horizontal/diagonal channel OR (b) triangle OR (c) falling wedge
3) wave 3 - start of this uptrend u are on-board already since u wud have bot on breakout of wave 2

purebull, connie will classify u as a position trader who rides the trend of wave 3 :)

1) style (day, scalp, swing, position, momentum)
2) strategy - each style has its different strategies (hope purebull can share his style n strategy)
3) discipline - stick to one's style n strategy
4) risk management - hope purebull will describe clearly his take on position sizing and exit plan be it for winners or losers

pretty ... u may hold the baton now and lead :) truth be told, bursa is boring without the momentum traders :( hope rchi won't take leave too long ... hope there will be another counter that lures him back here soonest !

1) do u use the same EMAs/SMA on weekly chart ?
Use these in your charts:
3 LINES: EMA 7, 18, 42 with SMA200

2) do u get your bullish / bearish bias from the monthly and weekly ? and your trading timeframe is the daily ? which means the conditions that u set to enter a trade is based on daily ? (note - for rule based trading, there must be (a) conditions to enter a trade (b) entry signal and (c) exit plan

3) do u mind to share your conditions / entry signal / exit plan (if u have that is) ?

next logical question is of course at which part of wave 3 .. early, mid or end ??? at this point, those in position can only trail their profits with a sensible method ... cuz nobody can call tops / bottoms ... eg what if the wave 3 extends after a brief breather etc etc
