SingPost and Alibaba Group is Forming Strategic Collaboration to Grow International E-commerce Logistics Business. Alibaba Investment Limited will invest S$312.5 million to purchase 30 million existing ordinary shares held in treasury by SingPost and 190.096 million new ordinary shares and take a 10.35% stake in SingPost upon completion.

Singapore Post Enterprise Private Limited holds 147,529,100shares (20.8%) in the Efficien (based on annual report 2013). Indirectly, Alibaba will hold 2.15% in Efficien.

Efficien offers data processing services, such as data conversion, data manipulation, data merging, and data mining; and a range of document processing services, including data extraction, data conversion, formatting of documents, data printing, and preparation of printed documents for distribution by post. It also provides electronic bill presentment services comprising data extraction, creation, and delivery through electronic media that include the Web, email, SMS, and fax, as well as physical distribution, imaging and data capture, archival and retrieval, and records management services.

Rolling 4 quarters EPS = 0.71Sen. Net asset per share = 17sen. It has RM16.7mil in investment mutual fund and RM46.2Mil cash. Borrowings are RM3.8Mil. Net cash is about 8sen per share. At share price of 17sen, I pay 9sen for their operating business that generates EPS of 0.71sen. That works out to be 12.6X PER for a low financial risk, dividend paying and positive operating cash flow company that comes with the possibility of riding on the theme play of alibaba/Singposts’ international e-commerce logistics business.

By the way, the cover of the company’s 2013 annual report looks equally “Zen-Like” like the cover of GDex annual report.
