1Q foreign exchange loss 350million for 10 cent MYR depreciate against USD. Why there is 5.4cent profit in 1Q? Because AA dispose their Asset (AA Expedia Travel) and gain 320 million (One off gain).

2Q record 8.7 cent profit is because of the 208 million deferred tax. Actual profit = 243million - 208 million, which equal to 1.2 cent.

For 3Q, every 10 cent depreciate from MYR(June) to USD, please expect loss of at least 300 million. As simple as this.

No offense, but please make sure you really OPEN, READ and UNDERSTAND the financial report before dump your money to a share. Suggest if you can learn a bit TA to know when is the good time to buy.

angellol, FYI, Note 27 stated currency loss for Mar-Jun 2015, which USD:MYR is around RM3.56 at beginning of March and RM3.66 at end of June. You can imagin how much to loss if 1 USD close at RM4.20 on September?

Do you know that Airasia is actually suffering from a loss for previous quarter? Net loss of RM0.045++ per share.

To cover loss from foreign exchange, they sold AirAsia Expedia Travel, with gain of 300 million.

Go open latest financial report and find this word "Gain on disposal of interest in AirAsia Expedia Travel"

If they no sell AirAsia Expedia Travel, last quarter result will be -RM 0.045.

What will happend to next quarter result when there is no asset for them to sell and have to suffer from the currency exchange loss? Dont expect a positive result from AA in coming report.
