AD: Salamander Energy Plc (SMDR:LSE). It has very solid production from Indonesia and an existing deal with another company to sell part of its assets for a significant consideration. Recently, Salamander has received an indication of a potential takeover by Ophir Energy Plc (OPHR:LSE). Even though Ophir hasn't tabled its offer and hasn't revealed a specific price or valuation, we believe that it is likely to be significantly higher than the current share price. Salamander trades at about £1 on the London market. Our assessment of its net asset value suggests a true value of 140–150 pence, 40% to 50% higher.

To the investor, Salamander represents an arbitrage situation. Better still, Salamander had previously rejected an approach by another consortium, so we could end up with a bidding war.

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, crude oil supplies were at 378.5 million barrels last week, compared with 388.1 million the same week a year ago. So, crude supplies actually DECREASED by 9.6 million barrels compared with last year.
Gasoline supplies were at 203.6 million barrels last week, compared with 210 million the same week last year. Again, supplies DECREASED by 6.4 million barrels compared with last year.
There is all this talk of oil and gasoline prices falling due to a supply "glut", but supplies are LOWER now than they were at this time last year. So there was a bigger supply glut last year than there is now, yet oil prices were $94/barrel at this time last year, when supplies were HIGHER, yet only $74 today. This is proof that the sharp drop in oil prices since the end of June has nothing to do with supply levels, but everything to do with downward MANIPULATION of oil prices by the U.S. and the Saudis intended to cripple the economies of Russia and Iran, with U.S. hopes that this will force Russian troops to pull out of Ukraine, and Saudi hopes that the Assad regime in Syria, backed by Russia and Iran, will be toppled
Similar Russia-related downward manipulations of oil prices occurred in 1986, when Reagan collapsed oil prices to bring down the Soviet Union, and in 2008-09, when oil prices collapsed to $35 a barrel after Russia invaded another former Soviet republic, Georgia. After Russia pulled out of Georgia in the spring of 2009, oil prices increased again, and by 2011, they were back up to $100 a barrel with gasoline near $4 a gallon. The same will happen when Russia pulls out of Ukraine, prices will quickly go back to the $90 to $100 range, which is actually where prices should be, and would be right now had Russia not invaded Ukraine.

Already expected ppl shorting the oil to try to see how low it can go until OPEC next meeting.....

OK ,No talk cock,BS and no joke........Sona is a very very good spac. Its QA will be approved soon by SC,expected after the approval the price may be double or triple. Current price is good price to enter. So you have to buy now before its too late. Don't worry about oil price. It will rebound soon after opec cut its production. So...beli sona...jangan tak beli !!!!!!!
