首席部长林冠英指出，赌球合法化将对社

会带来许多负面的冲击，

在野党及民间的强烈反弹，

反对政府合法化赌球活动。在政府于六月

初宣布发出赌球执照后，由在野党及伊斯

兰组织发动的抗议集会就没有停止过，民

间普遍上反对赌球合法化，担心这将使现

有的赌博活动恶化，引发社会问题。在陈

志远召开记者会当天，也有二十二个非政

府组织联合推动「反赌球合法化运动」，

除了在全国收集签名，他们也计划在七月

初发动十万人大集会，以向最高元首提呈

备忘录，插手政府让赌球合法化的决定。

不过，令人感到意外的是，首相兼财政部

长纳吉六月七日在国会回答议员时表示，

政府尚未发出赌球投注站执照给爱胜阁，

目前尚在收集公众对有关课题的意见，使

事件扑朔迷离。

也许是爱胜阁预计的事，然而令爱胜阁最

政府的决策对着干。最先发出禁令的槟城

首席部长林冠英指出，赌球合法化将对社

会带来许多负面的冲击，他不满目前由三

家博彩公司举办的彩票开彩日过于频密，

每周约十二次，造成许多家庭面对经济问

题。他表示，人民有赌博的权利，州政府

也不会禁止赌博活动，不过他认为博彩开

彩次数应该减少。让人感到意外的是，前

首相阿都拉也对政府让赌球合法化持异议

，他促请中央政府慎重考虑；他指出，虽

然赌球对非穆斯林可能没有问题，但许多

宗教都不鼓吹赌博，而赌球也是一种赌博

活动，它已抵触伊斯兰教义；阿都拉在出

任首相时曾拒绝发出赌球执照给爱胜阁。

伊斯兰禁止信徒涉及赌博活动，而大马人

口六成是穆斯林，因此，政府开放赌球活

动使执政党在政治上处于不利的地位。
