The problem with intrinsic value approach is that we make lots of assumptions, which could be wrong. I normally use Peter Lynch's PEG method. Anyway, there is no perfect method.

It doesn't matter whether Q3 & Q4 are AA's strongest quarters. When we compute PE, we take into accounts the earnings of all four quarters.

If you buy a stock on the day before ex-date, technically the shares will only be delivered to you 3 days later. That correspond to entitlement date.

Two of the major stocks in iCap portfolio are Padini and Parkson. Both reported dismal results...

Even the Explanatory Notes are so pessimistic :(

Surely Padini will do well during CNY. But the question is whether it will do better than it did Q3 FY13.

AAX is not a subsidiary of AA, so its listing will not affect AA's bottom line.

You will never know when the price is hitting the bottom. Buy if you think the stock is traded at or below its FAIR PRICE.

That said, I foresee Padini's Q4 earning to be lower y-o-y. This is because its Q4 2011 results were exceptional. The earliest it will turn around is Q1 2013.

I considered WINGTM before. But Uniqlo is just a small part of its business.

iCap owns Padini, so its NAV will be affected. This, in turn, may affect iCap's price.

According to an article in the Star 2 or 3 weeks ago, the unemployed pilots had not recorded enough hours to enable them to fly a big aircraft. (They can only fly small planes which weigh less than 5700 kg; Beoing 737-900, used by Lions Air, is 79000 kg.) Why then would Malindo hire them?

Malindo's Rusdi interviewed by The Star last week. According to him, his planes fly 14-16 hours everyday. Anybody knows the corresponding records for AirAsia?

If we enter at 9.00, will it rebound?
Perhaps we have to pin our hope on non-gaming businesses, such as plantation...

Share buyback will have an impact of PE.

That 'big investors disposing Padini shares' is not my concern. My concern is whether Padini can fend off assault from H&M and Uniqlo. If it reports good earning, eventually big investors will come back.

What is H&M's positioning? If its merchandise is of medium-to-high priced, then it probably won't open stores outside Klang Valley and JB/Iskandar.

H&M is probably a bigger threat to Uniqlo. Both are strong brands. Padini is a weaker brand.

You don't compare Q4 results with Q3 results. You compare Q4 2012 results with Q4 2011 results.

It's possible to make a living with stock trading - IF you trade for other people and earn commission! Other than this I am not optimistic.
