some FF division prospect as published on last april 17 thru the star:-

KUCHING: Borneo Oil Bhd-owned fast-food restaurant chain SugarBun, which currently operates 88 outlets, has zoomed in on northern Peninsular Malaysian states for expansion.

Homegrown SugarBun, a well-established brand in Sarawak, will expand to Pahang with five restaurants in Kuantan.

According to the company’s executive director Raymond Teo Kiew Leong, two proposed company-owned SugarBun restaurants in Kuantan are expected to be operational in two months.

He said the company picked Pahang to spearhead the entry into the northern peninsular states as Borneo Oil had a major gold-mining operation and office in that state.

“We are also targeting Kelantan, Terengganu and Penang to introduce the SugarBun brand,” Teo told StarBiz. Besides Kuantan, there will be three SugarBun restaurants in Johor Baru, two more in Sibu and an additional three in Sabah.

Teo said the company hoped to make inroads into Singapore this year, but acknowledged that the challenge was to identify a suitable location, as shop rental rates in strategic areas would be “very high.”

He added that the company was studying a joint-venture proposal with a local investor in Pontianak in Indonesia’s West Kalimantan province to establish the first SugarBun outlet.

Currently, SugarBun has 72 restaurants in Sarawak, five in Sabah and one in Kuala Lumpur, with 10 outlets in Brunei, Australia, Bangladesh and China.

Teo said to attract more investors into the franchised SugarBun business, the company would reduce the cost in setting up new outlets by simplifying its menu to limited key food items.

Under this cost-reduction strategy, the company has come up with the new SugarBun Ltd’s grab-and-go concept under “Broasted by SugarBun.” New franchisees have been promised “low entry, fast returns and empowerment of entrepreneurship” under this concept of “one-track mind food choice” to be launched soon.

Teo said the new franchise concept was modelled after Singapore-based pizza chain Pezzo. Borneo Oil holds the master licensee for Sarawak and Sabah for this chain of restaurants.

for those who missed on acquisition of quarry lands announcement previously:-

MAIN TERMS OF THE MARBLE QUARRY OPERATION AGREEMENTS
The main terms of the Marble Quarry Operation Agreements are as follows:-

i) The Operator is appointed as sole and exclusive operator to the Quarry lands
(“the Business”) for a duration of thirty (30) years.

ii) The Business involves the extraction, processing, marketing and sale of the
marble blocks produced from the Quarry lands but does not include all other
material and limestone residues on the Quarry lands (“the Ancillary Products”)
which the Company’s subsidiary is entitled to operate on.

iii) The Operator will pay to the Company RM150 per cubic meter (“the Agreed
Rate”) of limestone blocks extracted;

iv) The Agreed Rate is subject to review every five (5) years of not more than 20% of
the rate for the preceding period;

v) The Operator guarantees to the Company the following;
- First 2 years minimum 1,000 cubic metre or guaranteed monthly
compensation of RM150,000 and;
- Yrs 3 onwards minimum 2,000 cubic metre or guaranteed monthly
compensation of RM300,000 per month.

vi) The Operator shall pay to the Company a total advance deposit in the sum of
RM6.4 million.

vii) The Ancillary Products estimated to be 60% of the reserves belong to the
Company for it’s use at no cost.

The prospects of the Transactions:-
The annual production allowable for the 7 Quarry lands is 66,934 m3 giving an
estimated net income of RM10.04 m per year. The operators have produced since
November 2016 a total of 4,020 m3. Once the clinker plant in the eastern part of
Sabah commence operation, it will require around 800 tonnes of limestone a day
and this will add to the future prospect of monetizing the limestone reserves either
through the supply of limestone or other form of joint ventures. The marble portion
of the assets is expected to produce a yield of between 1.7% to 9.1% per annum.
(1.7% p.a. is guaranteed for the first year and 3.2% p.a. is guaranteed from the
second year onwards).
The Borneo Marble Brand has an established market in China and the USA and this is
one of the main reason for the entry of the operator into the Marble Quarry
Operation Agreements.

for whom missed the news belows:-

BornOil divisions growing strongly
August 14, 2017

BornOil Quarry
A BornOil limestone quarry
Shareholders of Borneo Oil Berhad (BornOil) have good reasons to be smiling from ear-to-ear in recent times.

This year, the company has rewarded its shareholders via a capital distribution in the form of Bonus and warrants. And if one were to go back in time to two years ago when the company had a rights issue, the yield has been commendable. For example, if you had bought a share at 60.5 sen and participated in the rights issue in Sept 2015, you could have enjoyed a yield of approximately 32%.

If the Bonus and warrant D distributions can achieve a capital appreciation of a similar 32% in 24 months from the month of June 2017, shareholders would have more reasons to be happy. Should it materialise, it would serve as reward for investing in our company committed to its pursuit in its core businesses to driving value for shareholder.

And indeed, shareholders have good reasons to be optimistic given that BornOil’s various divisions have been growing from strength to strength in recent times.

Raymond TeoWhen contacted by BizVantage360, BornOil executive director Raymond Teo (pic) expressed his excitement for the gold mining division’s forthcoming heap leaching project.

He also expressed his excitement about how the market will react to ‘Borneo Asian Food’ , “Broasted” by Sugarbun (in the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia), Aunty Franklee’s entry to Singapore and food stations to be operated by Tong Meng in Menara Hap Seng 2, Kuala Lumpur. These sub brands from Sugarbun will help to drive both the top and bottom line in the later part of 2017and the early part of 2018, said Teo.

Teo summarised that the food division’s strategy is as follows:
Staple, healthy, home cooked, authentic and wholesome food, to be eaten and taken almost daily.
In a clean and efficient environment.
Where Franchisees can set up with minimum capital and can commence business faster due to shorter duration required for renovation.
Allowing customers to stay focused of what they want.
Singular product and simplified menu to ease ordering and speed up serving time.
Easy to operate with minimum workforce and shorter training duration for the same.
Currently, BornOil has 89 SugarBun 49 Pezzo, 3 Borneo Asian Food, 1 Aunty Franklee (Pilot) and 2 Tong Meng outlets.

Meanwhile, BornOil’s limestone marble production is providing a bottom line profit in the form of royalties presently and the supply of limestone to the cement industry in Sabah will also contribute in the future.

What’s more, with the completion of the vertrolysis biomass plant in December 2017, the conversion of palm oil biomas to biochar, biofuel and biogas will bring new impetus to the palm oil industry in Sabah.

Also in the current financial year, BornOil has also acquired limestone quarries for marble block production. On this initiative, Teo said: “Good grade limestone is cut into marble blocks for export. Since the commencement or the marble block productions in January 2017, over 300 containers have already been exported by the operator.”

“Sabah imports approximates 1.5m to 2m tons of cement annually. If a clinker and cement plant is to be set up, we will be in a strategic position to participate in the supply of limestone to the same,” he added.

Teo summed up our interview by expressing the company’s intention of positioning to investors that the BornOil Group would appreciate in value for long term investors.

He believes that the rewards will be enormous when the BornOil Group’s various businesses move into full operational mode:

Food franchise – global in nature.
Gold mining and trading – real and perpetual value in nature.
Biomass conversion – global player in the conversion of palm oil biomass, to biochar, biogas and biofuel. “Malaysia and Indonesia have over 200m tons of palm oil biomass yearly, as both the countries together produce 85% of the world’s edible palm oil yearly,” said Teo.
Limestone – main and monopolistic supplier of limestone to the cement industry in Sabah and the BIMP-EAGA.
Properties – sitting on some of the most beautiful spots in Sabah with tremendous potential for lifestyle living and tourism.

the value you holdings in hand before and after bonus will be same. after bonus you will hold 1.5x more share in hand. after bonus, everyone with certain amount of capital (those confident with) may able to buy 1.5x more shares in the open market due to the price will adjust lower according to the market nos of shares. so, nothing different before and after bonus, price up or down nothing to do with nos of shares but depends on company quality.
