These counter had been making profits since listing albeit at lower profits for the last two years and yet to make losses. Even though its cash reserves had dwindled but it has retaining earnings of more than RM250 millions. At this time its share price is below their NTA. Personally at this price range of 0.60+ I will accumulate more of their shares.

Wegmans is a company which had just been listed to raise capital for expansion. Their products are manufactured mainly for export. Due to the depreciation of RM to USD, they might be reporting increasing profits in the coming quarters, Personally, I would accumulate more of these stocks when there is a price drop within the price range that I want.

I think price dropped because current quarterly result profit was lower than previous one.

Maybank to Spin Off Insurance Arm Etiqa?

Malaysia’s largest bank, Malayan Banking (Maybank), is preparing to spin off and list its insurance unit on Bursa, according to sources with knowledge on the matter. Their insurance arm Etiqa is estimated to be worth at least USD1 bil, and could help Maybank unlock value and get it higher valuations (The Edge Markets, 18 Apr).

Etiqa and the Spin Off
Etiqa provides life and general insurance, and family and general takaful insurance products. It reported a rise in profit before tax of 18.5% to RM1 bil last year. The company operates in Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines and Indonesia. In March, Etiqa said it maintained its top position with 11.8% market share in Malaysia’s general insurance and general takaful segment.

According to the article on The Edge Markets released just last night (18 Apr), Etiqa is estimated to be worth at least USD1 bil, and if listed would have a market value larger than its peer Syarikat Takaful Malaysia, which is currently valued at USD700 mil.

Further in the article, as part of the transaction, Maybank’s investors are expected to receive shares in the insurance company in proportion to their existing shareholding in Maybank, the sources said, adding that here will be no new money expected to be raised in Etiqa’s listing. However, the sources added that the exact structure of the transaction has not been finalized. The spin off could be an advantage to Maybank as it can reduce the capital requirements, and could help Maybank unlock value and get it higher valuations.

Mary Tan Ling, it was my assumption only. Recently it was mentioned in the news that Maybank plans to list Etiqa Insurance and also because of the delayed annoucement of the 32 cents final dividend, I think behind the scene something must be going on. That was my 2 cents only

AGM already over and final dividend should be approved. Don't know what's the delay was all about. Recently, there was news they want to list Etiqa. If that was true, they would want to annouce Etiqa shares entitlement to Maybank shareholders and final dividend simultaneously.

Maybe today will be final dividend annoucement of 32 cents.

Yes, Lets hope they will pay dividend. For the past few years they had been paying out increasing dividends. Last year it was 5.2 cents, hopefully this year they will at least give the same amount like last year. In my opinion, Tune Protect share prices had been oversold and a rebound could happen anytime. Even thought for the past few quarters its results had been very bad, it is still a profitable company albeit at a lower profit. Insurance is a company which can generate a lots of monies because they receive gross premiums from its customers on a regular basis. The management should manage their cost and expenses efficiently to make the company's profits increase again.

Ignore short term drop of the share price. Focus on the business of the company. If it was good eventually the market will confirm it through rise of Eco world share price. From my observation, they were doing everything right. For investors just need to be patient.

Tune protect better be giving dividend. I think the annoucement for this should be at the end of March. If no dividend is declared, I m worry the share price of these company might go down further.
