Anyone knows if parent company privatized, what will happen to its subsidiary, say Malakoff?

@darthvader
1. ex date is the date that the existing shareholders are recorded for the dividend payment. after this date, even if you sell ur stocks u will still be eligible for the dividend payment sometime later. Viceversa, if u dont own the company s stock before the ex date you are not eligible to the dividend. after ex date the company s share price will usually drop by the same amount of the dividend paid out.

2. dont understand your question, they issue dividend based on the number of stocks you have, not the share price. e.g. you own 1000 maybank shares, dividend you get is 1000 x rm 0.385 = rm380.

3. as a shareholder, you can choose to subscribe to dividend investment plan ( if there is one) or not subscribe to one and just collect dividend fully. for this dividend, date of payment is 28 jun 2021.

4. rm7.55

Total current liability is at 1.649 bil, non current liability is at 17 mil. How do you get 10.58 bil?

@jeffreyteck, whr do you see the 11 bil borrowings? i just checked their annual report but dont see the 11 bil borrowings you mentioned? or you r referring to the group s (MMC) borrowings instead of the company (Malakoff)

@pinky, could be net profit for FY20 YOY 40+% increase, from 300mil to 445 mil, plus good sentiment to value/traditional business. Tech stocks dropped alot while value stocks on the rise

thanks pinky, i assume it s due to bad years for the construction sectors? Hence market sentiment is poor?

Hi guys, been following this stock for quite some time. Im quite a newbie here since i only started buying stocks this year so am hoping someone for some clarifications. Im currently holding 30% of my portfolio on MMC since it seems to be a fair buy given it s NTA..growing dividend/ profitable business. But as alot may have mentioned, it s a conglomerate business, so it s supposed to be more diversified and hence stable? so i was wondering why did MMC drop from its RM2+ before 2018 till today s price, what went wrong?
