For SST monitoring, I think won't happen anytime soon as the new govt needs to evaluate again, also they are too busy with other stuff than to look at a monitoring system for now. Remember this is a govt trying to gain a popular footing with the people, so projects like these are a big no no for now. That's my opinion only. Furthermore, this project has a lot of ties to the previous regime, which they are trying to disassociate themselves from.

I hope Myeg will move on from this "for now" and concentrate on what they already have, and aggressively look at new avenues to work with the new govt.

Trump has shown himself to be deeply ignorant of issues at hand. If you raise tariffs, then you will kill off other industries in the US and impact big companies like coca cola, ford, gm, construction companies etc...

So you are going to save a few thousand steel jobs and slow down the inevitable but destroy another 500,000 good paying jobs?

My personal opinion: He knows what he is doing, so he gets his kids to long or short before he makes announcements like this and ends up making huge profits. The sooner we see the back of him, the better. He is rocking the markets for his own benefit.

Just found out that the US president can actually get this through without approval from congress. That's scary.

if steel and aluminium prices fall due to US tariffs, will this not have a positive effect on econpile as their raw material cost will now be lower?

If US market drop leads to regional markets drop, Malaysia will not be spared.

Once US interest rates rises, then all the hot money will flow out of the country/region back to US, which will lead to our market correction. The concern is that if the market is perceived to be too hot , the feds will increase interest rates to cool things down a bit.

If you are invested in this company for long term, then should be no concern especially if Econpile gets a piece of the ECRL project.
