We refer to the above article entitled “More Transparency in Proton-Geely Deal, Please!” which appeared on page 4, Focus Malaysia for the week June 3 – 9, 2017 in particular to the following sentence:

“But the next day, DRB told analysts the 49.9% stake was valued at around RM770 mil. Geely would pay RM170 mil cash and give Proton the rights to its best-selling model, the Boyue, valued at RM600 mil. It seems strange that DRB would disclose the pricing details to analysts and not shareholders.”

DRB-HICOM Berhad (“DRB-HICOM” or “Company”) wishes to clarify that the valuation of Boyue rights of RM600 million, as explained during the analyst briefing held on 25 May 2017, was merely an assumption in the attempt by the management to illustrate on how the assumed valuation of Boyue rights will lead to the implied valuation of Proton.

During the same meeting, the management also highlighted that it is currently in the process of estimating the value of in-kind injection of the Boyue model.
The Company will make the appropriate announcements to Bursa Securities on a timely manner in accordance with the Bursa Securities Listing Requirements upon execution of the definitive agreements and/or as and when necessary
