The only way minority shareholders will benefit is when there are big funds or rich investors decide to challenge Tony.
Otherwise, he will continue his slow and steady way to suck the company by way of drawing high salary and performance bonus .After sucking , he will buy more ta shares to increase his holding.
Hopefully, we will have people like Dr . Yu if YNH in TA that conpete with quek Leng Chan in the hlbb saga

i thought tony is only allow to buy up to 2% of the paid up shares after the MGO but with his purchase today his shareholding is at 36%. Anyone can clarify.................

21.01 Delay before subsequent offer
Unless otherwise approved by SC, the offeror and all persons acting in concert with the offeror shall not, within 12 months from the date of the announcement that a take-over offer has been withdrawn, has lapsed or failed-
a. Announce a take-over or possible take-offer offer for the offeree; or
b. acquired any voting shares or voting rights of the offeree if the offeror would thereby become obliged to make a mandatory offer;
This mean if Datuk Tiah failed and just manage to increase his holding to about let say 36% then for 1 whole year he cannot purchase more than 2% from market in any rolling 6 months. He will be a sitting duck if any corporate raider will to buy up 33% from open market and make a GMO. If this happen Datuk Tiah is at risk of losing the control of TAE.

imagine if a few hundred/thousand of shareholders wrote to them, i believe we can use this as shareholders activism

bursa should implement rules that require all companies to revalue their assets and liabilities if the major or anyone intend to take a company private

my guess is TT wants to take TAGB private via TA enterprise. the whole value is in TAGB.
so everyone buy some TAB now to prevent him from getting TAG delisy=ted one day

everyone in the thread is unsatisfied and feel cheated. the only happy guy is tony tiah but that is the rules. bursa or SC should change the rule for majority shareholders to take over the company all the assets must be re-value to current value. how can we, the minority shareholders present our case to the authority? anyone can assist................

Those who got the split from TA in 2009 were the ones who gained

I CHECKED BACK THAT THOSE WHO BOUGHT TA AT RM1 IN 2009 WERE ENTITLED OF TAGB SHARES FREE AT AT RATIO OF 6 TAGB FOR EVERY 5 TA. AT CURRENT MGO PRICE THOSE SHAREHOLDERS ARE ONLY GETTING 1.03 BACK AFTER 9 YEARS OF TRUSTING TONY TIAH.

WE CAN'T BLAME HIM AS THIS IS HOW MARKET WORKS BUT MORALLY IS IT CORRECT TO TAKE ALL THE MEATS HIMSELF .............?

cannot blame tony tiah. he is just taking advantage of the opportunity that the market provide him.
what he really wants is tagb shares that ta is holding.

his MGO did not provide solution for the non compliance of minimum public shareholding spread of TAGB.

i am speculating that tony tiah will accumulate until he has enough to benefit fully for his entitlement of tagb shares that will be distributed to all ta enterprise shareholders.
this will solve the tagb minimum public shareholding ruling

@Singh1....Some may say Datuk had been fined for some offence in the 1990's during Asian financial crisis. After investigating many articles, listening to many sermons by Datuk about his struggles, I believe he was a victim of others who tried to cheat their way out of their financial difficulties during the crisis and the authorities implicated him as well in the process.

i hope you don't mind to share more with us on your observation of the above. the markets generally summarize that tony tiah was hand in hand with soh chee wen resulting in omega securities being delisted for being a bankrupt company. it will be great if you can share your knowledge on the above as it will enable more readers to understand the real situation and view the company differently.

@ironcrow., i had invested in both ta at 0.70 and tagb at 0.36 for quite some time. is both company good for long term investment . i think their loan is quite huge but is backed by quality assets

@IRONCROWZ., i am not good in understanding accounts. i go through their annual report and i noticed that their hotels operation is generation very good profit. what i don't understand is their investment division which i believe is an obstacle to tagb price as its earning is erractic

something funny in the Q4 report that i cannot understand under the property development segment

YTD revenue $175,669 million
profit before tax $31.267 million

Q4/2017
YTD revenue $10.647 million
loss before tax $2.3million

how can YTD for Q4 had decreased so much instead of increased?

The Board of Directors of TAG wishes to announce that Bursa Securities, vide its letter dated 14 February 2018, granted the Company an extension of time of six (6) months until 28 June 2018 to comply with the public shareholding spread requirement.

1. at the moment ., i don't see the company has any other option except to keep on asking for extension.
2. no big funds are interested in tagb
3. ta enterprise will not be so generous to give out tagb shares to its shraeholders

singh1, if tony tiah is generous enough to share the wealth with all shareholders like what you had written above, both ta and tagb price willl at least 50% more than now. he is a veteran stockbroker and he knows how unlock the hidden value but he is not doing. Instead he is hiding all the value
