there are the following possibilities: 1. he exercised his share options then sold the shares. 2. Initial buy was to support the share price but it was not sustainable. Following sales were forced selling. 3. He really has a lot of shares. Better get some money out before the price drops further. What I don't like is that the company bought back its shares just a few days ago, and then the director sells!

why did the price jump up yesterday? Company posted a loss in the latest FY based on the Annual report released yesterday.

Bioalpha sets up R&D centre in Hong Kong

KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 4): Bioalpha Holdings Bhd has set up a new research and development (R&D) centre in Hong Kong to localise its nutritional and healthcare products in the Chinese market.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Bioalpha said it has set up a new wholly-owned subsidiary in Hong Kong, BioAlpha (HK) Ltd, with an issued share capital of HK$2 million.

The subsidiary will principally carry on business related to its nutritional and health supplement products, in areas of R&D, manufacture, import, export, distribution and trade.

Bioalpha managing director William Hon said the move bodes well for the group as it opens up opportunities for its penetration into the Hong Kong market.

"The group will leverage on the new centre to develop new products and formulations localised for the Hong Kong and Chinese market,” he said.

The plan is for Bioalpha HK to carry out R&D activities in Hong Kong Science Park, in line with statutory body Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corp's tech-based initiatives in the region.

“Looking ahead, we are definitely aiming to spread our wings further in the region,” said Hon.

Shares in Bioalpha closed 0.5 sen or 1.96% higher at 26 sen on the ACE market, giving the company a market capitalistion of RM210.12 million. Year to date, the stock has climbed 26.83%.

There is more than RM46 million in the share premium account. It is even higher than shareholders equity! (see page 2 of the interim report). Would there be a chance of another bonus issue coming soon? 1 for 1 bonus? : )

mancingbursa's mentality is hard to understand. If he is so negative about the stock, which he is, then his earlier comments are noted and point taken. Having made his views known, I don't understand why he is still sticking around here and trying to convince other people to exit the stock??

Unless mancingbursa is shorting Bioalpha of course, However, I am afraid that if he is shorting Bioalpha, it is going to be a rather painful experience for him in the coming months.

This forum allows for both positive and negative views about a stock to be aired and discussed. This is healthy. Those of us who are positive on the stock can be kept in check by those who are on the opposite side. And vice versa.

However, absurd/ridiculous comments and the use of foul/abusive/gruesome language have no place in any forum. So, it's high time that he (mancangbursa) grows up and be more mature.

A few months from now, as you look back on yesterday and today, you will realise that 0.22 was the bottom.

Biohldg's results were ok if you take away the ESOS and the expenses for the rights issue. Q1, which are the current results, are also the weakest quarterly results in the year. The next few quarters Q2, Q3 and Q4 should be better.

This was a kitchen sinking exercise by the company. With all the negatives now put aside, the only way for the share price to go now is

UP!

Like you, I went through the annual report and I am ok with the company. I haven't sold any shares in Biohldg since pre-bonus and pre-rights time. Have been holding for a long long time.

Another possible reason could be that the share options are expiring. They have limited time periods. If so, then it is perfectly understandable.

Our Group CFO - Goh Siow Ching exercised 1m share options at 0.205 and sold it at 0.265.

Based on the earlier announcement, there is still a balance of 175,000 to be sold. I believe the balance should also be hers. Let's see if she sells it all.

Why is she selling all her shares? I hope it is either because (i) she wants to avoid a conflict of interest in her current position or (ii) for personal reason that she needs the money. Certainly I hope that it is not because she doesn't see good quarters ahead.

related to the announcement above (which was posted by N225), was another announcement today related to an exercise of share options (ESOS) of 1,175,000 shares at 0.205. I think William Hon or someone will exercise the options and sell it in the open market. Hence the announcement to deal during the closed period.

Today's selling pressure was well absorbed. At one stage, I was worried that it would break 0.25. but the 0.25 wall held very strongly. It was back to 0.26 at the close. A most remarkable performance on a day like this. Looks good for the coming week.
