# With the DOw up last night, hopefully there will be a rebound today here. An article from Trend Following Malaysia (William Au) below:-

The Malaysia FBMKLCI suffered a 2 days of heavy price correction after failing to break above its historical high resistant (1826pts). However the long term uptrend on the FBMKLCI remains intact as it has yet to violate its 2 major support to conclude this market as a downtrend market. Tomorrow we will see the FBMKLCI testing its 1st major support EMA90days moving average (1775pts). A good recovery from the 1st major support will end this correction early and the FBMKLCI will retest its historical high resistant. Failure to support at the 1st major support (1775pts) will highly bring the FBMKLCI to close its September gap at (1747pts) which is also the 2nd major and most critical support for the market to support at. *An uptrend does not move in a straight line. It consist of ups (rally) and downs (correction) within the period of uptrend.* While the FBMKLCI continues its healthy market correction the 2nd liner small caps stocks and penny stocks will be affected as well with profit taking activities. But we remain bullish on the 2nd liner small caps stocks and selected penny stocks after this healthy market correction ends. Therefore know where their support is at during the market correction.

# MC - i just mentioned to connie that no one can predict the stock market direction. The correction can last a few days or a few weeks. It all depends on your risk appetite. I have been saying that we should go slow and that you must protect your profits. So in your case (just my opinion on experience as I do not read charts), these may be your options

1. If, say, you sell everything and still make some good gains, why not ? Go enjoy your holidays and come back for a new challenge. The market is here everyday for you to trade.

2. If you are confident about a counter (probably have inside news), then keep that counter and sell those speculate ones that have risen too fast and too high

3. Just wait for a technical rebound (tomorrow or a few days later, sell to reduce your losses.

4. Keep buying when prices drop further (but this is very risky as the saying goes - do not catch a falling knife)

At the end of the day you and you alone has to make the ultimate decision taking into consideration of looking at the charts (can seek someone who can tell you), the global and local economies etc.

Based on history, the market usually performs well come January (the January effect) coupled with the Chinese New Year period.

# Market Overview - Despite the Dow closing at a record high yesterday, Asian stocks registered the longest weekly losing streak since June on tapering fear. Here in KLSE, the index has been hovering around the 1,800 level. The record high in the Dow and recent gains in major European markets have failed to lift up the sentiment here. As there is no adverse news to trigger any selling, we are seeing rotational play amongst the penny stocks which is conducive for speculative and short term play. Thus it is advisable to trade with caution. This is just my personal opinion.
