The exercise date is on the 23/2. This means that the shares are officially split on the start of this day, which is today. The entitlement date however, is on the 27/2, that is when the extra shares will be shown in your account. The reason why the price has adjusted to reflect the split now is so that people who buy during between the 23/2 to the 27/2 will not be paying the presplit prices.

I think it's because the money is mainly deposited in Hong Kong from what I understand, where FD is close to 0, hence the money is parked in the money market instead. Sacrificing interest for easy access to the funds.

Only a few countries can sustain producing oil at low levels of USD2x, Many of oil producers in the US have already been producing oil at a lost. They are still continuing operating as long as their banks/creditors permits, which they will for now since the non-current assets of these firms will not be worth alot in the current market.

I think that until we see news of oil producers going bankrupt, oil prices may not recover.

I think something to keep in mind is that the main argument for an increase in CPO prices due to El Nino is that supply is expected to fall in the future. Hence, the amount of Palm Oil that produced may also take a hit, which may affect overall profits.

However, the decline in output will be more severe for Indonesia than for Malaysia. Hence, Palm Oil producers in Malaysia should theoretically be able to gain from this situation.
