You think that my mind is warped, well I guess we have a mutual understanding. I don't get how narrow minded you are into thinking that a mere 5 - 10% reduction in their bills is gonna shake Malaysia and help curb poverty by making them more assiduous. Maybe that RM200 that they manage to save via subsidized fuel can actually be funneled into tuition funds, books for their children or some proper food to put on their table. Ripping off amenities and subsidies are only widening the wedge between rich and poor. The rich won't feel the pinch, but for the poor, every RM 50 you take from them is another week's meal your snatching from them. You may think it makes them work harder, but you're too spoiled to notice that are already struggling to make ends meet.

Oh and sunztzhe whats wrong if they get a little bit subsidized fuel if it helps reduce their burden by what 5%? So you're only worried about this, when wealthy people become wealthier through back door leakages in fuel. I think that if crude oil prices plummet further it will aid more in our country's goal towards attaining vission 2020. The goal is to have a balanced budget. Imagine if our government does not have to subsidise fuel no more, it means that implementing gst after next year for oil would be easier, the price we pay for could be maintained even after tax. I really think that they're serious about implementing a system not only to track usage but also to possibly implement a tiered-tax system as part of a long term plan like what pav said. Imagine if we kena gst for petrol, the gov will attain they vision in no time. We have less than 6 years to 2020, the gov is gonna do everything in their will to achieve that.

Winterwolf u have good point, to me I feel its gonna be after the budget coz if our gov is gonna kena hentam from the public my guess is they'd rather kena hentam one shot.....or at least some of the budget allocation might alleviate the negativity of the people.....they have all this people mad doggin them, i feel they'd try execute a plan to minimize damage.

I am working in the government sector and almost always, once a tender is approved verbally, the deal is as good as it is signed, sealed, delivered. Any open-tender they do now is just for formality sake to cool off those haters. I have an experience when we awarded the tender to someone else only for them to double-cross us and make adjustments after approval, in the end we went bck to the original company. I have some confidence Fuelsubs will get it based on trust, experience and so on, but I hope this understanding is common amongst other gov agencies. However, without good news, I have my reservations if Qly earnings will fuel much movement. Hold for now. I always envy those shares that remain stagnant for months and suddenly picks up over night, maybe this is it.
