Regards to non-shariah compliance issue, to explain the mechanics; quite long and technical. Simply spoken, there are key parameters that Shariah Advisory Council ("SAC") looking for--refer to previous post--to justify the level of shariah compliance. And each of parameters, there are certain threshold to be looked at. Shariah-wise, 'halal' is clear, 'haram' is clear, and in between, so called 'gharar'. Level of 'gharar' would determine whether fall in 'halal' or 'haram'. To make a conclusion whether ASTRO--and its all subsidiaries--is shariah compliant or not, for each of its subsidiaries, you have to look at what level of its 'gharar'. Then add up together of all its subsidiaries. This total figure will determine whether shariah or non-shariah. Otherwise, rely on the report provided by SAC.

You're very right, hamsterr88. Non-shariah doesn't mean 'haram'. It's an option or precisely 'harus'. Depends on the needs of individuals.

Financial services based on riba (interest)
Gaming and gambling
Manufacture or sale of non-halal products or related products
Conventional insurance
Entertainment activities that are non-permissible according to Shari’ah
Manufacture or sale of tobacco-based products or related products
Stock broking or share trading on Shari’ah non-compliant securities, and
Other activities deemed non-permissible according to Shari’ah

LISTING'S CIRCULAR NO. L/Q : 65651 OF 2012

The above Company has failed to submit its annual audited accounts for financial period ended 31 March 2012 ("2012 AAA") to Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad ("Bursa Securities") for public release within the stipulated timeframe pursuant to paragraph 9.23(2) of Bursa Securities' Main Market Listing Requirements ("LR").

Pursuant to Paragraph 9.28(5) of the LR, if a listed issuer fails to issue the outstanding financial statements within 5 market days after the expiry of the relevant timeframe stated in Paragraph 9.23(2) of the LR ("Relevant Timeframe") (the last day of the 5 market days is referred to as "Suspension Deadline"), in addition to any enforcement action that Bursa Securities may take, Bursa Securities shall suspend the trading in the securities of such listed issuer. The suspension shall be effected on the next market day after the Suspension Deadline.

In view of the above, the trading in the above Company's shares will be suspended with effect from 9.00 a.m., Wednesday, 8 August 2012 until further notice.

Pursuant to Paragraph 9.28(6) of the LR, if a listed issuer fails to issue the outstanding financial statements within 6 months from the expiry of the Relevant Timeframe, in addition to any enforcement action that Bursa Securities may take, de-listing procedures shall be commenced against such listed issuer.
