KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 27): Genting Bhd chairman Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay's 28.49%-owned associate Grand Banks Yachts Ltd said on Thursday (Oct 27) the yacht manufacturer's business momentum is expected to accelerate, after achieving an all-time high net order book value of S$182.9 million (about RM612.88 million) as at June 30, 2022, compared with S$116.9 million a year earlier.

Year-to-date, tech-related stocks on Bursa Malaysia such as Unisem, Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd, Inari Amertron, Pentamaster Corp Bhd, MI Technovation Bhd and Aemulus Holdings Bhd have seen steep declines of 30% to 70%, while the technology index has dropped close to 40%.

SINGAPORE (Oct 25): Genting Singapore has fully redeemed ¥20 billion (S$190 million or RM636.51 million) worth of bonds.

The yen-denominated bond was first issued back in 2017, when the company was gearing up to bid for a casino project in Japan.

It came close to securing a project in Yokohama, but after there was a change of the local government, the bid fell through eventually.
