Hi humbleisland, i support wax as they have definitely done a lot of changes in their rationalisation plan as seen. From constantly having negative results to positive results is definitely a big change. Among the positive catalyst that I've seen which would contribute to aax's growth are these:
1. New management is definitely doing a lot (Benny is a better Ceo than the previous one)
2 Strategic new routes
3. Better debt management policies (Tony used to gave a habit of borrowing heavily but this has been something that Rafidah had warned him about and he somewhat listen) - I know the story about the debt thingy in which Rafidah Aziz didn't want Tony to take on too much debt as how he used to do it before was because we have interviewed them a couple of months ago in deciding if we should invest with them and how much of our funds to put into them.
4. Now i can point out a lot about their financial statements, balance sheet as to why i prefer them now rather than 3 or 4 yrs ago but sadly i dont have the numbers in from of me now as I'm on a holiday. (In short, their financial statement now is better than how it was previously)


Among the negative catalyst that i see on AAX are as follow:

1. They are up for some serious competition with MAS. I know by saying this, i am going to get a lot of retarded comments by a few "Sifu's"here by hearing them say "Aiyoo Mas caters for a different segment and AAX targets a different segment". But trust me on this, we interviewed MAS and checked out few of their official statements and all that i can say is that they have changed "drastically in every aspect". If they keep their performance steady at this rate, it's no doubt that they would start eating into AA and AAX's market share.

2. Too many expansions which may seem good in the short-run but a big lag in the future. Ever heard of the term of diversifying, right ? Everyone claims that by diversifying your investments, you have stable portfolio. But too much diversification also has its disadvantage. If one is to diversity their portfolio too much, they risk their chances of making exponential gains.


Now how is the term of "diversification" relevant to aax ?


Thing about the investment scenario just mentioned but it terms of aax introducing new flight routes. Having introduce new routes definitely portrays to the average investor that "Wow, aax got tons of new flights, hence more profits liow" BUY BUY BUY

But one would have to sit down and calculate the profitability of each flights.

Lets put it in this way, FOR EXAMPLE:

You rather have 3 routes that generates RM100 million in revenue in total rather than having 10 routes that generate a total revenue of only only RM75million.

Obviously from a management's point of view, having 3 routes that generates a total profit of RM100Million is much better in the long run as it shows their level of efficiency in operations.




[I can provide more info's as to why MAS is doing superbly well but can't because these are PnC infos and only obtained during private interviews.] Now before being bombarded that i am a fan of MAS, NO, I AM NOT A FAN OF MAS. I am just a FM that invest/trade in companies that i feel would do well for my clients by growing their money at the uppermost level.

My overall view of AAX:

I am a little Bullish on AAX and see them appreciating in the short-run.

lol radzi, the new management in MAS is way better than the older ones. Hence, they have got their pricing strategies all right and their profit margin now is way higher than back then although fares are slightly cheaper.

So what i said earlier today ws right, there's a high chance for IWCity to get a share of it. It wouldn't be as big as what it wanted earlier. BUT IT STILL GETS SOMETHING. Tomorrow should GAP UP and close way above today's 2.13. Huat ah!
