2. If K1 nasal swab doesn’t not receive exemption, thus the application to FDA is still in process.

3. If K1 nasal swab per se receive FDA exemption or approval, K1 shall produce a letter from FDA.

for gloves people, their surgical gloves obtained MOH, FDA & CE approval long before, thus they can sell immediately to the medical people. Coupled with COVID urgency, the import procedures (dictated by Dept of Commerce) are lessen. However, the direction is to improve the rapid test kits to compliment or to nPCR techique performance. That is a very normal evolution in scientific field. If scientists able to improve rapid test kit, the demand for nPCR test will be hugely reduced.

Some examples of previous evolution are Dengue, HPV, H1N1 and many others which those tests are easily performed by clinic to get initial result for further decision.

No, ventilator is not approved by FDA yet too. The actual story is K1 is granted license to manufacture NASA-designed and patented ventilation. Once the ventilation production line is set up, it is subject to local authority approval and formal application to FDA. Site inspection and product testing must be carried out to verify site specifications (sterility) and product performance.

Kgroup took the easy way by importing FDA approved nasal swab, MOH or MDA approval for local sales is just a formality (product registration and hologram) as it is already certified. However, profit margin may not be high and face risk of supply interruption.

K1 opted manufacturing and sales. That will give K1 higher margin and control of cost and supply. Approval shall take more vigorous process, It is really subjects to the manufacturing specifications to meet ISO 13485 requirements and perhaps COVID test requirements. If the production line set up is not meeting requirements, major non-compliance will be issued and corrective actions must taken to rectify. That involves huge rework and delay.

Perhaps you don't understand global MD (ISO 13485) certification process. Local authorities (manufacturing site) must be obtained before foreign country application, and FDA is the main source of requirements and standards which MOH use in their certification process, so if K1 failed get MOH approval, you think they will get FDA and CE?

what happened if MOH doesn't grant approval for nasal swab? It has been 2 months and 6 days since May announcement of nasal swab production plan.
