Richard12345& maney, Most of us might have missed out that Silterra is actually @max prod capacity of 40kwafers/mth.. There is an acute shortage of its 200mm chips for automotive segment, let alone with other segments like life sciences,5G gadgets & associate industries.. Pse read d SSPA doc...it is boring and hard reading & requires good command of English to understand...only then will u appreciate how Dnex maps its plan...only time will testify.
con artiste will never give up canvassing...as a super salesman, he can even sell his grandmother to u...after all he has nothing too loose...like a Macau scam...newbie will be broken hearted and sell..lol
@leestar,if u ask an independant IB analyst to calculate a moderate fwd PER of DNEX, min valuation of Silterra alone will be yes, 1.80. 1 IB uses a PER of 100X for 1 semicon co.in MY...its crazy! Many investors still lack knowledge of difference btween pure play foundry,IDMs & fabless. Let alone d shortage of chips in d 200m (8-inch) process node in a pure play foundry.
March 31, 2021 20:02 pm +08 Khazanah sells Silterra to DNex and China-based Equity Fund for RM273 mil cash -A+A KUALA LUMPUR (March 31): Dagang NeXchange Bhd (DNeX) and Beijing Integrated Circuit Advanced Manufacturing and High-End Equipment Equity Investment Fund Center (Limited Partnership) (CGP Fund) have signed a share sale and purchase agreement with Khazanah Nasional Bhd to take over loss-making semiconductor unit SilTerra Malaysia Sdn Bhd for RM273 million cash.
In a statement, DNeX said under the agreement, DNeX will buy a 60% equity interest in SilTerra for RM163.8 million, while CGP Fund will acquire the remaining 40% for RM109.2 million.
The purchase consideration for DNeX will be funded through a combination of proceeds to be raised from a proposed private placement, internally-generated funds and/or borrowings, the statement said.
To whom it may concern:if u were to convert by paying 50.0 , may still be better cos of breaking news today. DNEX & CGP Beijing have bought Silterra...may break 1.00 tomorrow & also cud limit up tomorrow if vol is big & has momemtum...why throw away ur chance to earn extra $$? Food for thot...not a buy or sell call...trade with due diligence..
Scalix ,Bignenen, omega& huat_ahh, All optimists r winners:we will collect more tickets below 1.00 thrown by pessimists tomrrow, see if there dare!, In DNEX we trust. they think DNEX is a joker out of 52 cards. "Texas" Ranger,d rocker ,pse submit ur new theme song..
@omega & huat-ah: u r hittng d nail right on its head, not on d butt! there is a world of difference between gambling & investing...oceans apart.. let's ask ourselves, does any of Genting shares goes up forever without a pause??? Wet market Auntie & Uncle can whisper to u d answer.
@face:TransPacific cable link btwn USA and S'pore/Indon does not involve Dnex sub in Indon. I believe most subm cable projects in Indon is for local backbone network...Dnex has one asset vessel that will do cable laying & repairs/maintenance named CS DNEX Pacific Link.
Ikmal & Anis,kadang2 mereka cut & paste...awak mesti faham trailing notes ya!.saya tidak ulangi..mereka ada sesuatu sbb membuatnya..ngapa kah awak tidak boleh bertoleransi. Pokoknya Kita nak ceritakan supaya fakta2 tentang co Dnex supaya awak dapat membuat pilihan pintar utk melabur...i have no time to bertikam lidah di sini....pergi cari sumber fakta dari other resources.....advisable u exit & find another reliable source.
newages.it has upgraded its prod cap to 45k wafers /mth...if i m not mistaken.. Silterra has colllaborated with IMEC, a Dutch co. Also doing some R&D with a U... Sliterra said they developed & patented Silicon photonics used in data centers.. Coindentally ASML is from Holland..largest chip making eqpt manufacturer... US may be advising Holland to restrict to export advance DUV & EUV eqpt to China to delay China's quest for 7nm node process....they r really scared of China. KOrea & Taiwan have been forewarned not to supply advanced chips to China.
newages00, i have similar opinion, Silterra is a 200mm wafer fab still relevant to auto, life sciences, consumer elect,etc...potential is exponential...i m from electronics maintenance & installation team...radio stuff....in 1990s fab costs about USD 700 - 1400 to builld..but its all publics money....so 470 mil is dust cheap ..new fab ..min USD 2.0 - 10mil each depending on ur capacity & sophistication..now smallest is i think 2nm node process....ASML,Nikon make tons of $$ Intel is building 2 fabs soon at@USD 20 Bil.. TSMC or Samsung in Austin Texas or Arizona abt USD 17 Bil..ready in late 2022
I concur with u Tedlock,..i repeat,DNEX won d bid as per d Edge..Khazanah awards to Dnex tho' got other bidders bidded higher & Khazanah req Dnex to match d price...its a done deal...whats going on behind d scene is anybody's guess...there may b a lot of negotiations with CGP b4 signing off..not a 470 k deal but 470 mil....There r a lot of nitty gritty microscopic details to be ironed out..If u r a CGP investor, wud u simply sign off with DNEX without knowing details specs,T&C etc....RM 1.0 billion to be injected on a 60:40 JV..a lot is at stake..nobody wants to be shortchanged later once thumb print.. And surely DNEX has to get ready upfront cash to Khazanah....no $$,no talk..Imho.
Cairo, Egypt (CNN)Eight tug boats are working to free a large container ship stuck in Egypt's Suez Canal, halting marine traffic through one of the busiest and most important waterways in the world.
The rescue boats are working to float and release the Ever Given, a 59-meter-wide (193.5-feet) vessel that ran aground after 40-knot winds and a sandstorm caused low visibility and poor navigation, the Suez Canal Authority said in a statement Wednesday. The 224,000-ton vessel, sailing under a Panama flag, was en route to the port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands when it was knocked off course. The ship -- which at 400 meters is almost as long as the Empire State Building is tall -- is wedged across the vital trade passage at the canal's 151-kilometer (94-mile) mark, the vessel's operating company said in a statement. "If the method is not correct it might take a week, and if it's done well it might take two days. But if it had been correct [in the first place], then the crisis could have ended yesterday," the pilot said. The official said that, due to the damage, the Ever Given is unlikely to be able to sail now and will probably need to be towed to the nearest parking site, the Great Bitter Lake District, about 30 kilometers to the north.
All Taiwan foundries r advising its clients that chip prices will be on a floating mechanism formula, meaning ASP is going up from Jan - June 2022. All 2021 capacities r fully booked. Intel new CEO Patrick Selinger forecast a boom cycle for chips over next 10 yrs. Intel will be investing US$20 bil to build 2 foundries in USA. Catching up with TSMC & Samsung.
G'day guys, ship traffic jam @ Suez canal due to 1 ship grounded. 10% of worlds seaborne cargo is on hold. Oil spiked last nite cos of this congestion . Blessing to DNEX..as both both benchmark Brent & Nymex r up.
Carmakers are already struggling with a global chip shortage caused by a Covid-19-driven boom in consumer electronics and an unexpected strong rebound in auto sales. Makers such as Ford Motor Co, Honda Motor Co and Nissan Motor Co have had to trim production plans as a result.
Carmakers will start to feel a supply pinch in about a month, according to Renesas.
The chipmaker said it along with automakers and their key suppliers are looking for ways to minimize the impact of the stoppage, Shibata said.
A Toyota Motor Corp spokeswoman said the world's largest carmaker is currently assessing the situation.
The fire at the Naka chip plant in northeast Japan destroyed 11 machines or 2% of the manufacturing equipment, and sent smoke billowing through the clean room, where even small particles of dust can damage wafers during the sensitive fabrication process.
Renesas may not be able to replace all destroyed equipment within a month, Shibata said, meaning a return to full production could take longer. The company, he added, may be able to rely on other plants to replace around two-thirds of the lost production, which is worth around 17 billion yen (US$156 million) a month.
The latest disruption at the Naka plants comes after production stopped for a few days last month, after an earthquake cut power and back up generators failed to start.
In 2011, Renesas had to close the facility for three months, following the deadly earthquake that devastated Japan's northeast coast.
TOKYO (March 21): Japan's Renesas Electronics , a key automotive semiconductor supplier, said on Sunday that production at a fire-damaged plant will take at least a month to restart, potentially worsening a chip shortage that is disrupting car production.
About two-thirds of production on the advanced 300mm wafer line affected by Friday's fire is automotive chips, CEO Hidetoshi Shibata told an online briefing.
"It comes at a time when there isn't excess production capacity," he said.
More chip Shortages for car Industry as a fire destroyed a chip factory Renesas Electronics in IBaraki, north of Tokyo.. 60% of its production is down since fire broke out last Friday...Its CEO said earliest it can up production in one month's time. More production cut for Toyota & Nissan..Toyota sends its team to assist in whatever way necessary..Renesas supplies 8.2% to domestic customers & 6% of global automotive semicon output...Wafer used is 300mm size for auto industry. Japanese car shares fell after news of d fire broke out...pse Google & read more Lagi pressure & price jack up for semicon..
Guys, some ppl r born with multiple split personality, they never admit, got to tolerate, jaz ignore this jerk...our business will have to carry on....problem child is always a prob child...v march on to our respective tp...stock mart is not for d weak hearted...its team power that will beat any Rambo... newages00,if u r a contra player ,does not mean so much 4 u...but for long term player,yes.. to d best of my knowledge as in past news about Ping Oil..pse go to DNEX website.. Recent interview with CEO said 3000 bpd (barrels/day production) & it owns 90% of Ping. Assuming avg USD55.0.per barrel,90% owned,90% efficiency production,4.1 exchange rate,USD 20.0 production cost, Profit b4 tax is: 3000 x 0.9 x 0.9 x 4.1 x 35 USD x365 = RM 127.28 mil/yr..profit before tax.. Probable & proven reserves is 26.2 mil barrels in d reservoir/field as per its report. At current prod rate, takes 14 yrs to pump out.. Pse digest & trade with ur own discretion... Cheers
newages00,this 1 4 u.: He added that Malaysia could cater for every step in the automotive value-chain, just as the country had built a name for itself in providing world-class manufacturing ecosystems for the healthcare, computing, consumer and communications sectors.
On its business outlook, Firdaus said that Silterra was targeting to expand its market in the United States (US), South Korea, Taiwan and the bigger part of China.
“Currently, 24% of our revenue is contributed by Europe while 11% is from the US.
“China alone contributes 34% and Taiwan another 31%,” he said.
As of now, Silterra is supplying chips for the makers of Google, Apple and Amazon products, among many others.
“Many Malaysians are not aware that a local company has the technological capability and capacity to produce components for such renowned global brands,” he said.
Despite being criticised back in the day for being unprofitable to the sovereign wealth fund which led to rumours of it being disposed, he said now the company has had an average revenue of RM600mil and profit of RM60mil, for three consecutive years. — Bernama
INvestmaster 99..This is not a buy or sell call: based on Bernama interview with Silterra's CEO Firdauss ..earlier someone in forum has said Fair value (FV)of Dnex..is 1.80 with all its 4 business segments.. It has Ping Oil,NSW+Submarine cable works in Indon+semicon chip (Silterra) Ping (ongoing oil production in d North SEa + 3 yr NSW contract + submarine 3+3 yr contract + chip production
nicholas ,tks for d report on Silterra revenue & profit info...if ASPs r up 20% every Qtr,u can calculate FV of DNEX on Silterra alone...explosive when u add up 4 or 5 segments of d business.. it's a science(arithmatic ),not a fiction anymore
Plantermen..which news u pluck from...??? pse show ur money..pse show ur authentic news...else dont goreng...some investors in this forum r v savvy...dont lead us to a wild goose chase..u get what i mean?.
