If after the qtr result is released and they give you at least 12 sen div then I am pretty sure it will go to 3.00 irrespective of any esos at play.

IOI and Hap Seng have been upgraded only this SOP no call buy except by HLE. Frankly if SOP is devoid of those negativities it is worth at least 3.80 as its earning are far more superior than IOI in terms of EPS !

Maybe some interested parties want to keep it down so that the next esos offer the excercise price will be even lower after discount nobody dare to buy big hehe

My estimate SOP's EPS post bonus issue for the qrt endind June 30 would be higher than IOI and close to Sime Plant but its share price is trailling by more than 40 % very funny isn't it ?

@enning22 so 10% of 580 mil is 58 mil mil is that right. If all has been excercised b4 the bonus issue it is a whopping 58 mil shares but I can see the directors and the CEO have sold some of theirs holdings all above 6.00 cum bonus . There can be easily another 30 mil shares held by esos flers post bonus issues. So the ups and downs of SOP will depend on the daily CPO futures price at least it appears that way

@beinvested more than 3 mil esos were excercised at 3.60 and below. Can check with bursa website. If you buy cum bonus at 4.02 you ex bonus price should be 2.68. Today the stock touched 2.78 still not bad lah

JP Morgan upgrade IOI to buy from neutral raising its TP to RM5.00 but no one has a buy call on SOP except HLeong although SOP earnings is far more superior than IOI even post bonus issues. The only difference is that IOI has some upstream activities

As long as this SOP does not have a dividend policy in place but chose to rewards their own people with cheap esos, however good profit it make will be meaningless. The logic is that if a high dividend is distributed to all shareholders, everyone will benefit including the owners and directors too. That is not to say Esos is not good but it should be an one off kind of things and should not be given again otheweise this counter remained the playground of the manipulating syndicates and some interested parties. As it is now its earnings are comparable to IOI and Sime Plant but the share price is far apart there must be some reasons behind it

Some facts. Most of the esos were excercised at 3.60 and probably most waited for the bonus but thier ex price is 2.40 only so you can expect some monkey trades to go on for a while hehe

Ex bonus price will be adjusted to 2.60 but post bonus its earning per share will be comparable to Sime plant, just look at what's the price of Sime plant. To me it is either SP is overvalued or SOP is grossly undervalued

Boss buying also cannot stop the shares from falling sharply if boss has exhausted his fund maybe lagi teruk !

It is wrong to annualise the entire year earnings based on 34 sen per qtr. bcoz the last 2 qtr may not achieve the same result as the first 2 qtrs. Having said that it will still be a very respectable figure for the whole year.

calvin could be right on 2nd qtr result ending June 30 2022. But I have built in higher cost of production going forward therefore my estimate is very conservative and also have taken into account the enlarged share cap subsiquent to the 1 for 2 bonus. Tats why I have said b4 if SOP does not do well no other planters will. But please don't forget to give out a higher dividends to reward the minority shareholders this is important

I have lots of reservations on investing in Mainland Chinese owned companies. When the Co. earned big money they are very stingy on dividends. What they did was to 'expand' the co. depleting most of the cash

I think now even the 9 mil esos excercised at 3.60 is in no hurry to sell unless they are financed by ah longs haha. Now only 2 groups of people left trying to press down the price further but its a lot tougher now

Here are some estimates
1st qtr EPS = 34 sen adjusted for increased shares issued = 23 sen
2nd qtr EPS = 19 sen
3rd qtr EPS = 12 sen
4th qtr EPS = 10 sen
Total EPS for FY 2022 should be around 64 sen on the enlarged share capital as a result of the 2 for 1 bonus issue. If the cum bonus price of 3.60 the ex bonus price would be 2.40. So as far as FY 2022 is concerned this stock PE is only 4 By far the cheapest stock in Bursa and the risk of investing around this price is very small indeed as compared to many other stocks in bursa now.
