I do not know when the vaccine will be out. But I sure know covid will rise in December and January and AT is surely producing gloves in less than 1 month time
2020-11-15 19:03 | Report Abuse
I heard before covid gloves selling 3 usd per box in the states. Now it is 10-12 dollars per box. Huge demand and profit for it

I think everyone is trying to make some money in the market better to objectively valuate the potential not simply bash and deem everything negative and lose opportunity

Mobbs68 by the time it produce glove do u think it is still not too late to enter by then?
2020-11-15 18:18 | Report Abuse
One year ago no one has fantasised that a glove company can overtake the cap of banks, infact the biggest bank in malaysia, maybank. Those who do not dare to fantasise still havent profited anything from gloves. I think this is one last opportunity to earn some glove money

Vaccines will reach our shore 6-12 months from the moment they announce successful trial. Not in 1 week. By the time it reach us maybe next year June-August. Will you start to buy airline shares or gaming right now? Meanwhile virus will spike throughout the winter expectedly in December-February.

SINGAPORE (Feb 23): Genting Singapore (GENS) saw its 4Q17 earnings ended Dec fall 29% to $134.0 million from $188.9 million a year ago.
This was mainly attributable to a net exchange loss of $1.2 million relating to investments in 4Q17, compared to a net exchange gain of $68.7 million a year ago.
As a result, other operating income fell 84% to $14.4 million during the quarter, from $89.2 million a year ago.
Despite the lower earnings in 4Q17, GENS recorded a 78% increase in full-year earnings to $685.5 million in FY17, from $384.5 million a year ago.
4Q17 revenue grew 4% to $580.1 million, underpinned by the stronger underlying performance of the leisure and hospitality segment as a result of higher business volume.
The daily average visitation for the group’s major attraction offerings – Universal Studios Singapore, the S.E.A. Aquarium, and Adventure Cove Waterpark – enjoyed growth in a range from 6% to 9%.
Its hotel business maintained a high occupancy rate of 91%.
Adjusted EBITDA grew 9% to $255.1 million in 4Q17, from $233.7 million a year ago.
As at end December, cash and cash equivalents stood at $3.83 billion.
GENS is proposing a final dividend of 2.0 cents per share for FY17, compared to 1.5 cents per share a year ago.
In a filing to SGX on Friday, GENS says the recalibration of its credit policy and commission structure for the VIP gaming business in 2017 is paying off and is proving to be a sustainable growth strategy.
“We are now able to achieve lower impairment on gaming receivables and improve operating margins,” it adds. “We will continue to curate and re-invest in new tourist facilities, and re-fresh existing products to remain attractive to our customers.”
In addition, GENS says it is reviewing its processes and guest interaction touch points to identify areas where it could innovate to achieve a better customer journey in all its business segments.
Shares of Genting Singapore closed 1 cent up at $1.30 on Friday.

cash-rich companies
TheStar Sat, Jan 20, 2018 - 1 day ago
A healthy cash position is an important indicator to evaluate whether a company’s financials are sound to withstand any unforeseen shocks.
Cash-rich companies are usually supported by “liquidity buffer”, which allows them to meet their debt obligations easily.
Operational expansion could also be carried out with much ease without the reliance on external financing. As for shareholders, cash-rich entities offer promising dividend payouts without resorting to borrowings.
In Bursa Malaysia, several companies have built strong net cash positions over the years. Data compiled shows that the Genting Group has topped this coveted list, with a whopping net cash position of RM8.8bil as at Dec 31, 2017.
The diversified conglomerate, whose business covers casinos, leisure and entertainment, plantation, power as well as oil and gas, has been expanding over the years, supported by its strong cash position.
Under the Genting integrated tourism plan, its subsidiary Genting Malaysia Bhd has developed and progressively launched new tourism facilities, which are expected to be its long-term growth catalysts.
Last year, the group also announced the development of a long-stalled project by its Resorts World New York City. The US$400mil expansion at the Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens, New York is set to become Genting Group’s long-run growth engine.
Genting’s dividend yield – a measure of how much a company pays out to its shareholders in relation to its share price, has been relatively decent. A check on Bloomberg shows that its 12-month dividend yield stands at 2.19%, with its three-year dividend growth at a whopping 176%.
Second to the Genting Group, integrated petrochemical producer Lotte Chemical Titan Holding Bhd has a net cash of RM3.61bil as at Dec 31, 2017.
On a year-on-year comparison, the company’s net cash position has surged by nearly 274%, largely due to the cash generated from its initial public offering (IPO) in July last year.
The company raised a total of RM4bil from its IPO and has earmarked RM2.8bil to build a new petrochemical facility in Indonesia. As at Sept 30, 2017, nearly 90% of the proceeds remain unused.
Lotte Chemical aims to use its IPO cash within 36 months from its listing, to drive the group’s expansion plan in Asean to improve operations and capacity.

Maintain Outperform with a revised TP of RM11.50. In the medium to long-term, catalysts for GENT include GENS’ possible venture into the Japanese gaming market, expansion of Resorts World New York and the completion of an integrated resort in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, the performance of its gaming operations in Singapore should remain positive, underpinned by stronger VIP and premium mass business volume

3Q17 results were only satisfactory as strong GENS’ earnings were offset by disappointing GENM results. We are not overly worried on weak GENM earnings, which were hit by luck factor. With improving GENS numbers and the GITP growth story at home, GENTING earnings are set to improve further. In addition, 2018 would be an exciting year given the new Japan market opportunity. It remains OUTPERFORM with revised price target of RM11.40/share

kenanga and public bank upped target
Retain OUTPERFORM. To reflect strong GENS’ results, disappointing GENM earnings and minor adjustment at GENP, we raised FY17/FY18 estimates by 4% each. Meanwhile, we also upgraded its Target Price to RM11.40 from RM10.95 with unchanged 30% discount to its SoP valuation following the strong GENS’ price performance and minor adjustment on GENM and GENP. New SoP is RM16.29/share from RM15.66/share previously. It remains OUTPERFORM as the key beneficiary of the recovery of GENS as well as the GITP expansion plan. Risks to our call include: (i) decline in casino business volume coupled with poorer luck factor, and (ii) decline in CPO prices.

gt i fully agree. the one time loss factored in if excluded it is infact a good q. the whole index is being sold down. yet genting is holding above 9.10. ringgit is strengthening soon the index has to improve to catch up with year end closing

the shareholders will fry mr lim if the share continue to underperform. so far very minor support coming in to withstand the foreign selling. they should negotiate off market trade instead of open market disposal like this. like i said if they continue this open market disposal by the time they complete disposal the share will be trading in negative territory
