I decided to watch and go in because the RTO deal did look good. When goreng time came, it was a flurry of ups and downs within few minutes. Macam Gpac on wednsday! Bro mike can give out the valuable tips and instructions, but he can't afford to sit with us and 'spoonfeed' us how to trade. He also has his own portfolio to monitor and trade. Got to respect that. We got to catch the profits and lock in and cabut. Sometimes, we don't, as the case with me today. Its no fault of him, we take the losses in our stride and learn from our mistakes. HUPSENG: EX-DATE : 2 APRIL (WEDNSDAY)

Assuming u bot 1000 HUPSENG shares today (27 march) @ RM 7.50
(I) Entry cost = RM 7,500
(ii) No. of shares post bonus/splits = (1,000 + 1,000/3) X 5 = 6,665 shares
(iii) If ex at *RM 8.00 (*closing price on 1 April), then ex-price on 2nd April will be RM 8.00/6.665 = est RM 1.20. It will definitely gap up on ex-date 2 April to est RM 1.25/30, given its strong fundamentals
(iii) Gross Value of Investment = est RM 1.30 x 6,665 shares = RM 8,664.50
(iv) Return on Investment (ROI) = RM 8,664.50 - RM 7,500 = RM 1,164.50 OR 15.5%. A tidy sum for an initial Investor. U then grow with this fundamentally strong company and ur ROI increases as the price trends gradually higher. Remember the company share base has increased 6.65x, price movement will be slower. My 2 cents.

mikekong55, GPAC VALUATION at RM350m is premised on a 3.4x NTA (Book Value) of 15c/share. Reasonable as GPAC is heavily geared, the premium is for GPAC's 4G broadband spectrum business segment. This works out to be RM350m/690m Gpac shares = RM0.50c GPAC share value. No wonder price went down to 52c yesterday. My 2 cents. Hit and run next time!

If HUP SENG bot at this high price now, the entry costs will be high, and investors ability to maximize from the bonus cum splits upon ex will be limited, the closer towards ex-date.

GPACKET ACQUSITION BY TM: Based on simple logic, if the acquisition cost is above 60c, why did the shares closed down to 52c? The privileged parties in know, knew that the deal was done around 60c or slightly more. The NTA of GPac is only 15c; loss making outfit for years; *highly geared (*bank borrowings)of 3x; ICPS of RM 184m; with legal suits to tow.

TM, the telco giant, has more to gain from this sretegic acquisition. We should be looking at their share price after suspension. TM has seen a slowing down of their fixed broadband business; and has seized this opportune moment to venture into the 4G wireless broadband segment thru this strategic acquisition. My 2 cents.
