From a valuation perspective, at Vivocom’s share price of 13 sen as at 6 October 2017, the company was traded at a price/earnings ratio of 8.4 times based on historical basic earnings per share of Vivocom of 1.54 sen per share as extracted from its annual report 2016. This represents a huge “discount” to Malaysia’s construction sector in which the price/earnings ratio is almost double at approximately 15 times. At 15 times, Vivocom’s share price would hypothetically be traded at 23 sen, providing significant growth potential for its shares moving forward !

Certainly, the Vivocom Group had been positively covered by analysts at one stage with five research houses namely, CIMB, MIDF, Mercury Securities, TE Research and SJ Securities covering the Company with “BUY” calls setting target prices ranging from 40 sen to 75 sen per share, signalling strong upside potential and capital appreciation. In its most recent update report dated 5th September 2017, research house MIDF Research has continued to maintain a BUY call on Vivocom’s shares with a target price set at 40 sen per share.

Revenue different from profit. Revenue less LLA = balance revenue less expenditure = profit less 15% to felda so balance = ???

VIVOCOM, from carbon coal to Hong Kong Jade GEM

Vivocom (0069)

According to the star: A Hong-Kong listed construction and property developer with HK$2.2 billion cash is going to take a controlling stake in Vivocom.

Fundamentally, Vivocom currently at 14.5c is a bargain and discount now.

Firstly, its disapointing result of previous few quarters due to late billing from developers means that in the future few quarters would have good result.

Second, with a Hong-Kong listed construction company as substantial shareholder of Vivocom, potentially they are going to inject billions worth of contracts into Vivocom

Thirdly, together with current construction theme play in Bursa, Vivocom would be greatly benefited.

Lastly, technically, for the past week, Vivocom has been on an uptrend according to MACD, SMA200, EMA20, RSI & Stochastic.

From my point of view, Vivocom will trend upwards in the short term, presenting opportunities to traders, and long-term investors in the long term.

Azhar on Monday reiterated his commitment to turn around and bring the company to greater heights.

“My immediate priorities are to improve operational and financial performance of our core business and ensure sustainable growth going forward. Being one of the biggest palm oil plantation companies, FGV must aspire to be the industry leader in terms of productivity and financial returns, so any factors hindering us from achieving these objectives must be addressed immediately,” he said.

Azhar said there is a need for a new management structure to strengthen the organisation. The board composition will be enhanced with the appointment of plantation experts, which will be announced later.
