‘Sliding oil price can recover faster than previous cycle’

KUCHING: Oil price is expected to recover at a faster pace than its last cycle in 2008 to 2014 as the current global situation is fundamentally stronger than before.

Maybank Investment Bank Bhd’s research arm (Maybank IB Research) in a note highlighted,the oil and gas (O&G) sector is also expected to recover faster than in 2008, supported by improved balance sheets and less speculations in the current market.

KUCHING: The Malaysia palm oil industry’s key risks have been revealed to be the industry’s stagnating crude palm oil (CPO) yield.

At CIMB’s seventh Malaysia Corporate Day held recently, the research arm of CIMB Investment Bank Bhd (CIMB Research) noted that MR Chandran, who is an Honorary Member and Advisor to Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) had highlighted this point.

Coupled with labour shortage issues, the stagnating yield could reduce the profit margin achieved by the plantation companies and cost competitiveness of palm oil in the global edible oils market over time......@Ring, repeatedly i hv been highlighting that d yield must be brought similar to UP or doomsday for oil palm growers.MAS taken over by a foreigner Muller n 1MD d expert from Dubai n I think d Matsalleh must head d oil palm plantation who r not able to get a yield between 23-25mt/ha/annum.

On Tuesday, tiny firm American Eagle Energy announced that it sold off its 414,000 barrels of oil hedged at US$89.59 a barrel through last December for a profit of US$13mil to improve its liquidity – even as the firm said it would have to stop drilling until prices improved.

According to their last filings, oil companies such as EOG Resources Inc, Anadarko Petroleum Corp, Devon Energy Corp and Noble Energy Inc had hedged some of their 2015 production at prices of US$90 a barrel or more.

Total Bid: 6,201,369Total Ask: 2,248,586.......as at 11pm buyers more then sellers which means either sustain at same price or up 1ct.....!!!!!!!

Common sense: present crude oil price is hitting bottom already if it keeps dropping US drillers will endup as NPL n banks will be in trouble so some solution maybe in d pipeline. Any positive news may spike d O&G stocks..n US have to make a decisiin by reducing production...my2c opionion.
