If the shareholders foresee a brighter future of the company and execute share buy back, it is not insider trading. It is actually sending a positive signal to the investors. It's a pity that many still can't understand it.

I don't see any reason to feel concerned about the debt. YTL first hit 40B in total liabilities in 2014. Market already digested the news long long time ago.

i3lurker, you have never been bullish about YTLP. I still remembered you asked people to run away even at 0.8. As long as you keep the bearish view, I have more confidence to hold.

KL_Insider your info is already outdated. The company started buying their own share since 12 Jun, not yesterday and today like you mentioned.

i3lurker, urging ppl to sell without giving any valid reasons is just irresponsible.

YTLP has been buying back their own shares almost every single trading day since 12 June. Up to 142 millions shares have been snapped up until yesterday. That means the share value has increased by about 1.7%. For those who are holding on, get ready for big profit.

Share buy back by company is much more beneficial to small shareholders like us than buy back by shareholders. Now YTLP's outstanding shares is 11million less. With a total of 8158 millions shares outstanding, this translates to 0.13% increase in EPS. Not much but it is a good sign that the worse is over and uptrend is on its way.

YTL Power is obviously oversold. The buy back of close to 20 millions shares by Yeoh's family from 21st to 24th May is a clear sign the counter is undervalued. 0.8 is still dirt cheap.

@i3lurker
I have ignored your comments as they are too seditious and not constructive at all.

For those with holding power, don't fall for the trap to sell at a loss. In the case YTLP is privatised via share-exchange scheme with YTL, you'll still own YTL that is set for long term growth.

Based on 2017 annual report, over 55% of YTLP is owned by YTL and Yeoh's family. To achieve 75% acquisition approval, they still need 20%. Based on the latest price of 0.92, it is about RM1.45 billion that they need to buy in open market to achieve that 75% threshold.

To take YTLP private is possible but not an easy task.

It is in Yeoh's family best interest to see price in YTLP to drop if their goal is to privatise the company via a share-exchange scheme with YTL. Those with holding power need not be scared as the value will eventually go up, with or without acquisition.
