Assuming a constant US$258m capacity payment for 25 years, the IRR will be around 12.5% which is in line with the projection by Jaks’ management

Earnings based solely on the capacity payment;

Earnings   = Capacity Payment – Loan receivable repayment – Interest Expense

                                 = US$258m – US$67m – US$1,287m x 6% (Est)

                                 = US$114m

This earnings projection is also in line with Kenanga Research's earnings forecast of US$120m for Jaks Hai Duong Power Plant

Hydro is not spared from Act of God

Dry spell

Even off la mcm ni coal dan hydro

We r good

When hydro low coal increase

CHANDIGARH: Ample monsoon rainfall has helped boost hydro power generation, which in the April-June quarter had dropped 11.5% from a year ago.

After two consecutive drought years, hydroelectric generation in the country had plummeted 17.5% in April and 16% in May from the year-ago months. However, sufficient rainfall towards the end of June replenished reservoirs and helped narrow the hydroelectric powergeneration gap to almost 2% less than the level last year in June.

Dear sslee

To address u punya ONLY negative even clearer

All IPP in Vietnam is heavily subsidied by gomen Vietnam maybe even hydro

AES Corporation's Moun Dong 2 using HFO is the most expensive and so is the one most subsidied and so is the first one to shut down by gomen Vietnam

Jaks IPP very very unlikely has to b shut down due to the same reason due shutting down Moun Dong 2 dah cukup to cut the over capacity

Most expensive HFO then coal then hydro

Faham?

Skrg ni last and only negative u cleared u patut buy some Jaks or forever hold ur peace

Or bye bye

Sslee Dear Sarifah,
The only negative is profit is base on net power output. If merit is given to Hydro power and coal power plant capacity limited to 50% then for that year your profit also will be only 50% instead as projected by Kenanga USD120 million net of tax per year for 25 year.

Thank you

Dear Sslee

Sarifah appreciate u write to kenanga for Sarifah

So come let cuba try to tackle u punya concerns one by one

Firstly problem u is u put all ur questions in negative light

Secondly u spent long on these u must hv u punya own thinking u mesti say them out

Anyway let's cuba try...

Sslee Dear DK66,
Refer AES Balance Sheet: 2018
Service concession assets, net of accumulated amortization of $0 and $206, respectively $0 (2018) $1,360 (2017)
This was transfer as Loan receivable in 2018
Loan receivable $ 1,423 (2018) $0 (2017)

So what different between service concession assets” (2017), classified as “Loan receivable” (2018)?

SO WHAT DO THINK?

WHY DO U THINK YG NI IS A NEGATIVE ?

What different between capacity payment and interest income?
In AES case what is AES Muong Duong revenue and Interest income refer to?
Are you saying AES Muong Duong should receive revenue + interest income + capacity payment?

TELL WHY IS THISBA NEGATIVE?

WHAT MAKE U THINK ALL IPP IS STRUCTURED THE SAME?

The other question also ada answers

U reply the above first

Reason yg satu ni je dah cukup to buy Jaks

HFO is 4x more expensive than coal yet it was a go for AES Corporation which owns 51% of AES-VCM Mong Duong power plant (Mong Duong 2)

DK66 Just to clear doubts, HFO is about 4 times more expensive than Coal in term of heating value.

How many companies have provided decent dividends, if at all declared any dividend, to shareholders?

Sslee Dear all,
Opinion from a well know political writer Mr. TKChua. Well said.
https://klse.i3investor.com/blogs/kianweiaritcles/203333.jsp
“To me, it is not surprising that the Malaysian stock market has lost its lustre. The market is no longer a venue for investment, but rather more for speculative play and gambling.
Let’s be realistic, I think for speculative play and gambling, ordinary investors stand no chance against corporate bigwigs and insiders.
May I ask how many percent of the listed companies in Bursa Malaysia today are of investment grade? My estimate is not even exceeding 20 percent.
These companies raised money from the market, but do they really care for returns to shareholders? How many companies have provided decent dividends, if at all declared any dividend, to shareholders?
To me, many of these companies with listed status are nothing more than “conduit” for them to print money. They exist mainly for the sole benefits of those who are in control of the companies.

Instead of encouraging more people to invest in the stock market blindly, the focus should be on making the market more efficient and transparent. The authorities must monitor the listed companies to prevent them from indulging excessive corporate abuse for the benefits of controlling shareholders.
Sometimes I see captains of industries and bosses of corporation destroying rather than creating values”

Thank you
