Well to be fair the IRB verdict is unexpected. This should be considered a once off incident. However analysis should be made on the future cash flows of the company. How can the company reinvent themselves is importanr

Would like to add that the impact will crystalize into P&L when the derivative is executed and/or the hedging effectiveness test indicates that hedging is ineffective

Cash flow hedge means the company enters into derivative to hedge against cash inflow (receipts) and/or outflow (payments). The loss position means there was as a negative impact from the position they took against FYE rate... Usually that means they hedged maybe USD at a higher exchange rate vs financial year end rate

Hang tight brothers, we are about to break new highs. Even at this price, it is considered cheap. You either make small profit or retire comfortably when the next Q results is out

All of you guys who loss money from trading MAS should have read my comments back in 2013. I'm an aspiring fundamental guru and I have warned multiple times throughout my analysis of MAS counter that this was doom to fail then. I had many "contrarian" experts trying to reason thwir flawed logic to me, but I guess I am having the last laugh here.

It is never wise to waste your wealth on a fire pit. There is a difference between betting smart and trying speculate. Peace out and may you lots have a great 2016 investment year.

I have predicted the drop in share price for this counter, you guys can refer to my comment back in October 2014. This counter CMI as it is played based on rumour with poor fundamentals. Brace for lower lows, get out while you still can. Peace out.

What is the correlation between internal purchase and share buy backs? One is a corporate strategy whilst the other is a personal choice. Brace for lower lows, peace out

No such thing as oversold, the stock was trading on rumours of an acquisition from an Italian buyer. The Italy government itself is in deep shit themselves, and so I ask. How can this acquisition pull off? Brace for lower lows, peace out

Just wondering, how does the dividend payout in % works? If they were paying 12%, what is the base where the percentage is multiplied on?

If you ask me, yes MAS has the potential. But they will not be able to turnaround that quick and that successfully under the public investor's glare

Anyway delisting MAS does not mean MAS will disappear, being listed only allows u to raise funds through public and so on. Hence, don't be so fool hardy in thinking that this is not possible to happen. Besides, a 3 year timeframe is a typical story PE sells. I don't see why MAS cannot be taken into private.

Nobody can deny that MAS is itself a junk stock at the moment, don't lie to yourself

Looks like MAS is going back to their expense spree way~

After cutting the "unprofitable" KL - dubai flight just 2 years back.

They are resuming it again?? Are there not any other alternatives? Looks like the 3 years program will indeed be "successful". LOL

Seller's activity has been strong today, but yet the price close at the opening. There are uncertainties here but based on the candlestick chart I plot, there will be a small reversal of downtrend

I find qqq68's comment very amusing especially. After telling people that he don't go with the herd instinct, his aggregate analysis on the news is nothing new. So mainstream ;. Just FYI, hedge on fuel price also makes up a very large component of their cost. Its just that derivatives gain/loss are not disclosed on the P&L directly until it is realized.

Please stop misleading beginners from "investing" in this stock

qqq668, as far as I am concern, the share swap deal is very one sided. Being that AirAsia was the sole and if not, the major beneficiary of the deal. MAS's only viable counter was their budget airline, Firefly. However I guess the competition has been stemmed for reasons that you have already know.

Knowingly that low cost flight is the trend now and oil prices are increasing, short haul flights is the way to go. However now you are telling me that A380 is winning back customers? HAHAHAHA... A380 is the LARGEST passenger plane, are you joking with me that the giant bird is actually fuel efficient relative to Boeing 777?

National pride? For the so called long term investors here, please be clear whether are you speculating or do you really see hope in whatever endeavours the current management is undertaking.

Khazanah Boss has a large enough portfolio to mitigate their losses, owning 70% of a RM0.305 stock is no big deal for a GLC like them. how much losses can you inccur from there? Max(0.305,0). So what? If you have spare cash to throw into a burning cash pit like MAS (Which is pretty obvious) so be it!. I don't have to emphasis how many company restructuring have they underwent.

Stock

May I ask qqq668, what was the trigger for their massive cash call? the cash call was not the problem, it is the fundamental disease within MAS that is hindering their progress. You can value it whichever way you want it to be. But I do not see any favourable winds blowing to their favour.

my friends, whats with this wishful thinking about MAS shares hitting up to 0.38sens? they never break or even get close to their peak price of 0.3255 sens FIVE YEARS AGO. Long term much eh. Just admit that you lots are a bunch of speculators, just wishful of the price rebounding because YOU LOTS THINK that a NATIONAL CARRIER CANNOT GO DOWN :))
