Too good result with this price of RM1.01. Pearl City is really a right development project for Tambun to sustain the property downturn nowadays. A Like Matrix that develops the Sendayan Township.

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 22): Tambun Indah Land Bhd, whose third-quarter net profit fell 5.3% year-on-year, plans to launch three new developments with a combined gross development value (GDV) of RM213 million over the next 12 months.
Net profit for the three months ended Sept 30, 2017 (3QFY17) fell to RM23.89 million from RM25.23 million a year ago, mainly due to fewer ongoing projects and lower new property sales recorded given the overall market condition. Its new property sales came in at RM31.99 million in 3QFY17 compared with RM32.96 million in 3QFY16.
Earnings per share were also lower at 5.51 sen compared with 5.92 sen, while quarterly revenue dropped 16.9% to RM70.97 million from RM85.44 million, according to Tambun Indah's filing with Bursa Malaysia.
Nevertheless, the Penang-based property developer declared a first interim dividend of 3 sen per share for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2017 (FY17), payable on Feb 12, 2018.
For the cumulative nine months (9MFY17), Tambun Indah recorded a 12.2% decline in net profit to RM67.97 million from RM77.41 million a year ago, while revenue fell 20.6% to RM221.56 million from RM279.08 million.
On prospects, Tambun Indah warned that the outlook for the property industry continues to be challenging.
"Based on the foregoing and subject to successful implementation of the projects, the group expects to achieve satisfactory performance in the current financial year," it said.
In a separate statement, Tambun Indah said two of the three new projects to be launched are Palma Residency and Permai Residency, which are located at Bukit Mertajam, Seberang Perai Tengah.
The RM50 million-GDV Palma Residency features 90 two-storey terrace houses and is anticipated for launch by end-2017.
Permai Residency, meanwhile, comprises 92 units of two-storey terrace houses, with a GDV of RM53 million. This would be the first phase of Tambun Indah's development project in Kota Permai and is planned to be launched by September next year.
The third upcoming development is Palm Garden, located at the Pearl City township. This RM110 million GDV project features an 18-storey apartment block with facilities, comprising 335 units of serviced apartments.
"Overall, Tambun Indah reported average take-up rate of 75% across ongoing projects of RM1.2 billion GDV. The group also currently has a pipeline GDV of RM3 billion, as well as unbilled sales amounting to RM95 million, which should contribute positively to the group for the next two to three years," it said.
Tambun Indah shares closed unchanged at RM1.01 today, bringing a market capitalisation of RM437.63 million.

BUSINESS OUTLOOK
Principal activities – manufacture and sale of furniture
Due to a shortage of raw materials (in particular wood) in China,
China reported its first decline in furniture exports in 2016.
The Group’s furniture segment is expected to benefit from a
continued decline in furniture exports from China.
Furthermore, given the recent unfortunate natural disasters in
the USA (e.g. Hurricane Harvey in August - September 2017), an
increase in reconstruction activities is expected in the affected
areas. The Group’s furniture segment is expected to benefit from
this once reconstruction activities begin in earnest.

The Group hedges accordingly to minimise exposure to significant fluctuations in the RM to USD exchange rate.

We expect further growth in the next year as
we continue to expand and diversify our customer base and
improve operational efficiencies. Furthermore, given the recent
unfortunate natural disasters in the USA (e.g. Hurricane Harvey in
August – September 2017), we expect signi cant rebuilding and
reconstruction activities to take place in the affected areas in the
near future and would expect this to result in increased demand
within the Group’s furniture segment
The Group currently has plans to diversify and expand its
existing principal activities (manufacture and sale of furniture)
to include construction and property development and is in the
process of seeking shareholders approval for this. In the previous
financial year, a joint venture company, Jaycorp Engineering
and Construction Sdn Bhd (“JECSB”) was formed to partake in
general construction and civil engineering works. In January 2017,
the Group secured a contract through JECSB (a 60% subsidiary
of Jaycorp Berhad) for the construction of a 7-storey shop-cum-
office in Likas, Kota Kinabalu. Subsequently, JECSB accepted a
Letter of Award for the construction of a
1-storey Azman Hashim
Gallery and Auditorium for University Malaysia Sabah. The
contract sums are RM16.8 million (excluding GST) and RM12.6
million (excluding GST) respectively. Both projects are expected
to be profitable and should contribute positively to the Group’s
results for the year ended 31 July 2018 and onwards.
Given the number of upcoming large infrastructure and construction
projects such as the construction of the Pan-Borneo Highway,
together with a focus on building affordable housing (e.g. PPA1M
and PR1MA), the outlook for the construction industry is extremely
promising. The Group will continue to actively pursue new contracts
and maintain its momentum in securing these.
While we expect to see marked growth in the construction industry
during the next year, the growth of the property development
market may be slower. The Group owns 396 acres of land (“the
Bongawan Land”) in Papar, Sabah. This land has been designated
for integrated tourism development under the Papar District Plan
as provided by the Jabatan Perancang Bandar dan Wilayah Negeri
Sabah. We believe this land has tremendous potential for the
construction and development of resorts, residential development
and other tourism related infrastructure. This is something we
intend to pursue in the near future once the property development
market picks up.

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 13): Ranhill Holdings Bhd announced a 78.2% jump in net profit for its third quarter ended Sept 30, 2017 (3QFY17) to RM25.2 million from RM14.14 million a year ago, thanks to savings from its rationalisation and relocation exercise.
Higher contribution from its environment business segment helped lift its quarterly revenue by 3.4% to RM383.55 million from RM370.84 million previously.
Ranhill declared a first interim single tier dividend of one sen per share, payable on Dec 13.
For its cumulative nine-month period (9MFY17), net profit, however, dropped 5.8% to RM55.4 million, from RM58.82 million in the corresponding period last year. Cumulative revenue, meanwhile, came in at RM1.1 billion, up 2.9% from RM1.07 billion in 9MFY16.
In its bourse filing, Ranhill said its profit growth can be attributed to the rationalisation and relocation exercise in the current quarter which helped save approximately RM3 million, versus a one-off RM5.9 million recognition of Sukuk redemption premium booked in 3QFY16.
The increase in quarterly revenue was due to the increase in volume consumption, in line with a wider customer base arising from new housing developments.
On prospects, Ranhill expects both its power and environment sectors to benefit from the development of new housing and industrial areas locally, as well as overseas opportunities.
Salient points of the joint billing agreement between its subsidiary, SAJ Ranhill Sdn Bhd and Indah Water Konsortium for the water supply and sewerage services in Johor and the potential integration of water supply and sewerage services have been agreed and are expected to be executed by year end, it said.
Meanwhile, the group reveals that it is also negotiating for opportunities in Sandakan, Thailand, Myanmar and Australia for its power business segment, as well as industrial wastewater concession contracts and other water-related works in China and other Southeast Asia countries, under the Belt Road Initiative.
Ranhill shares closed three sen or 4% down at 72.5 sen today, giving it a market capitalisation of RM644.03 million.

There is no case for the law suit, nothing to worry about. In worse case scenario, only pay/compensate about RM12.8 million equivalent to 1.44 cents per share. But Ranhill will earn around 9 cents (projected) in 2017. Paying us 4 cents as div, still handsonly can compensate. This is mathematics lah. What to worry?

As outlined in the prospectus for our IPO, we
promised our shareholders a targeted long-term

making dividend payments from cash generated
from our operations, upon setting aside necessary
funding to sustain our future growth.
