PETALING JAYA: The FBM KLCI will see two changes to its constituents following a semi-annual review of its component stocks, said Bursa Malaysia and FTSE Russell.

The stock exchange operator and FTSE Russell said in a press release that KLCC Prop & Real Estate Investment Trust – Stapled Sec (KLCCP) and TELEKOM MALAYSIA BHDwill replace AMMB HOLDINGS BHDand MALAYSIA AIRPORTS HOLDINGS BHDin the index.

“As a result of this review, AMMB Holdings, Axis Real Estate Investment Trust, Datasonic Group, Malaysia Airports, Mega First and MI Technovation have been added to the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Mid 70 Index, ” it said in a statement.

Berjaya Corp, Hibiscus Petroleum, Pavilion Real Estate Investment Trust, Pos Malaysia, Telekom Malaysia and UMW Holdings have been removed from the FBM Mid 70 Index, it said.

It added that the FBM KLCI reserve list, which comprise the five highest ranking non-constituents of the index by market capitalisation, will be QL Resources, Westports Holdings, Fraser & Neave Holdings, KossanRubber and Gamuda.

Meanwhile, the FBM Hijrah Shariah Index will see new additions and they are Digi.Com, MY E.G. Services and Supermax Corp.

“As a result, AIRASIAGroup, SP Setia and UMW Holdings will be deleted from the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Hijrah Shariah Index, ” it said.

“All constituent changes take effect at the start of business on Monday June 22,2020.

KUALA LUMPUR: The rubber gloves industry is booming as reflected by the manufacturers' soaring share prices, buoyed by "supernormal" demand of the products to help fight Covid-19.

Some of the rubber gloves manufacturers' book orders had been filled up to November 2021, according to industry observers.

The Malaysian Rubber Glove Manufacturers Association (Margma) recently said their members had received requests from 190 countries for more gloves.

Malaysia is the largest manufacturer of medical rubber gloves, supplying almost 65 per cent of the global need.

Last year, the country exported 170 billion pieces of rubber gloves valued at RM17.3 billion.

Global demand was estimated to hit 300 billion pieces this year, industry observers said.

While the spotlight has always been on big players such as Hartalega Holdings Bhd, Top Glove Corp Bhd and Supermax Corp Bhd, industry observers said there were other proxies to the sector.

They include Luxchem Corp Bhd, Sanichi Technology Bhd and HLT Global Bhd.

HLT, meanwhile, is a specialist in setting up production lines at rubber glove manufacturing plants.

HLT owns a 55 per cent stake in HL Rubber Industries Sdn Bhd, which manufactures rubber gloves. (Rumours:They will increase their stake after Suntel International many sold in past weeks)
