Heard that Shahril & brother are difficult
to work with. Perhaps there was a spat
btw them and Yeow followed suit.

What's the story behind the price rise of this stock?

Maybe should look at Brahim instead cos like it or
not MAS has to pay Brahim for catering and with the
increase of passanger load, frequency and destinations ,
Brahim's turnover would definitely increase too.
Now you know why Tun Badawi is advisor to MAS
- guard personal interest !!

Additional funds sadly will come from shareholders deep pockets.
( EPF/Khazanah )and not by an increase in share prices.
Remember the 6 Airbus 380 was funded by the recent rights issue.
So expect another round of cash call when delivery takes place
not so soon but within the next 2-3 years due to the long wait list
and the type of aeroplane purchased.

How to manipulate the share price when
Khazanah themselves is holding 11.59B shares
and the shares outstanding is 16.7B!
In short, there is just too many MAS shares flooding the market.
Don't forget the aging Boeing 777 fleet is also due for replacement
and would require additional funds/financing.

yesterday major airlines in Europe up 2 to 2.7% after the major powers reach agreement with Iran, even though they know the supply of oil fr Iran with take a few months more to materialize. This morning the syndiket try to press down to scare potential buyers of MAS. But it last less than 5 minit, they quickly grab all the sellers at 31.5 sen. they are doing short covering of MAS. Most airlines are singing the tune of easing oil price, what are MAS waiting for? If not of the act of the syndiket, MAS would be trading up 10% already
======================================================================

Who is the syndicate ??
Khazanah is the single largest shareholder in MAS with 69.37% or 11.59 billion shares while the Employees Provident Fund has 1.04% or 174.21 million shares.
The Government holds a golden share in MAS.

1: Tun Abdullah Badawi is advisor to MAS and not Tun M.
Tun via Brahim owns MAS catering which has a 25 year
contract.
2: Dato Sri Idris Jala did the opposite of what Ahmad Jauhari
is doing - Idris cut routes where else Ahmad Jauhari
reinstated them.

Lop sided contracts and different turnaround plans will
determine the direction the airline is heading.

Blaming increase cost to manpower alone is easier said than
done cos don't forget MAS is a 5 star airline and you wouldn't
want banglas to man the counters and serve you as well !

MAS needs an airline experienced team and
a MD who knows when to step aside if he fails to deliver.

To the consumer, it is a victory but to shareholders
when your yield is low, offering further discounts
means higher losses and the increase in load factor only makes
MAS look good on paper.
While economy tickets should be discounted , I don't see the logic
why the rich should enjoy even bigger discounts?

What has DRB done for Proton after being taken private?
Where is the Perdana replacement or are they taking the
same route of rebadging a Mitsubishi and now a Honda ?
Taking a co. private is sort of covering up the mess that
is going on in Proton or MAS.
Away from the publics eye and scrutiny !!

Management will always put the blame on higher wages,
foreign exchange loss, fuel cost, financing charges but
will never admit that they were at fault or aware of
how this loss escalated.

Management should ask themselves if they have the know how's
in running an airline offering the same 5 star service
similar to Singapore, Qatar and Cathay.
We should also question if there is real commitment given
to the airline by its board of directors who they themselves
have their own companies to run.

1)Ahmad Jauhari- MRCB/Malakoff
2)David Lau - Director of Shell/Celcom
3)Tan Sri Krishnan Tan- IJM
4)Tan Sri Datuk Amar - State Secretary Sarawak government
5)Tan Sri Sukarti Wakiman-State Secretary Sabah government

Perhaps , perhaps ,perhaps !!

Time for the management to be shown the door.
With a load factor at 84.8% and yet posting losses
means that it's ticket prices are just too low
What kinda business are you running when
your yield is lower than your cost?
Might as well cut frequencies and destination
expansion cos the more you fly the more cost
you will incur.
Why is nobody in the finance and marketing team
monitoring this daily?
Well latest news is that MAS will be replacing
its 777 fleet so where will the money come from?
U do the math !!!

Mohd Nor,Ahmad J and the top heavy managemment should be accountable for this poor
showing. Putting people from Malakoff/IJM/Axiata/ EPF and Tan Sri's from Sabah and Sarawak with zero airline expertise would not translate to better management.
Eventhough the Oneworld alliance brought better load factor but sadly it never translated
to better yields..sigh...

Expect a "tsunami" of shares flooding Bursa

That is why from the beginning many traders question
the rational of holding on to this falling samurai sword.

Tread carefully , its share price was rammed up
to make its rights attractive.
Yes, the amount of shares issued is a major concern.
This share issue was for the 6 A380's but have you
wondered how are they gonna finance future fleet expansions
and renewals as their B777 fleet is next in line.
Print more shares ?

Sorry for you mate having to put up with the bumper2bumper
traffic every morning but Skypark is where I take my co. private/chartered jet.
One Menerung to SAAS Subang, 30 mins max after 10am
hassle free check-in, customs and immigration clearence all the time.
Occationally fly to PEN & LGK on Firefly which is
doing well with nearly 100% pax load. Ask anyone and they will
tell you the convenience of having an airport nearby the city
and not some god foresaken place like KLIA Sepang.
Pls don't swear at Malindo for looking at options available.

No way Malindo can takeoff from Subang unless they are considering
a fleet of ATR's or similar Turboprop planes.
Malindo as a startup is just weighing its options.
Mind you Subang is still relevant due to its close
proximity to the city.

Khazanah should have just swallowed the bitter pill -
shut down the airline and start anew similar to the path
taken by Garuda, JAL and Swissair.
However it would also mean chopping off the gravy train
for its ridiculous and lopsided contracts.
(heard that there are 54 oil contracts alone valued in billions)
This restructuring is only a short term solution.
Its just a vicious cycle which will return to haunt MAS
once again a couple of years down the line.

into the market when the Loan Stocks and Warrants expire.
Any chances of its warrants being extended by the board

:) but vary of the current management's vision and the need to set up a new short haul premium carrier. MAS needs 6bil capex and MD in 60 days to announcement the source of funding. If another cash call then looks like more downside movement.

Its an outright monopolistic case as TF made sure
Firefly stopped their operations in KLIA and went back to
Subang flying the Turboprop ATR's.
No more competition in the domestic low cost market segment.
Share swap only benefitted AAsia and Khazanah.

Tun don't forget you bought back MAS shares from TR at $8 when it was trading at $5 and Proton sold Agusta at 1 euro.. Proton does not need fresh funds but instead needs to collaborate with a reputable producer as well as a new direction. If the present management remains status quo , Proton will never change and would require govt support and protection for another 25 years.
