"I have worked in HK stockbroking before. Hongkies have so many China companies to play and they are much more exciting. The won’t be bothered by companies like Top Glove. Just a peanut for them"
...
"So what they report RM3.2b profit for 2Q? Everyone knows FY22 profit will fall and FY23 will fall further. Unless Ah Chai gives a profit guarantee for FY22-FY23, if not, no one will give a premium to the stock"

For someone who claims to have worked in stockbroking, you seem to have a very poor understanding of the finance world. The size of the HK market has very little to do with the appetite of the local investors for profitable businesses. On the contrary, exactly because the HK market features more advanced participants, they look for value more carefully than the market participants in less developed markets.

Actually Ah Chai doesn't need to give a profit guarantee (again, for someone claiming to have worked in stockbroking, your concepts of finance appear to be very childish, this is certainly concerning). He gives a dividend payout guarantee, which translates into direct returns for the shareholders. If your plan is to invest in the company in 2023, this means an opportunity cost of RM1.50-RM1.75 per share in missed dividends for the period. Good luck with your strategy!

Even without RSS, the price dropped from 9 to 8,7,6 ish.
So why the defender dog keep on picking on RSS to talk ??
Reality is it is on a down trend, and many people saw that, which had prompted the sell down.

Exactly!

Shorties are market players. Not necessarily much short. They can also long. Pumping the stock to 50 will just help them to make more money. If really can push to 50, these people will push to 80 or even 100 and many people will chase. At the end who will die? U think yourself

Imagine if JPM changed their strategy on Friday and started to long the positions. Retailers pushing the shares up and JPM can take profit around RM8. Then Ikan bilis continue push the share up to RM10. During the course into RM10, many investors may have taken profit. Now at RM10, JPM already recovered their losses, institution investors have unloaded or underweighted the stock. At this price, most retailers want to sell. My question is who will buy?

imagine u push the stock to 9-10 bucks, 1-2 years later when ASP down back to normal, while some people already taken profit and u have not, then who will buy from u?

Glove Companies should stop giving Analysts meetings and guidance on earnings. These bloody Analysts are now saying " It was no surprise" What the F**k ?

they dont's give earnings guidance

management only provide information on ASP, demand, outlook, operation etc.

if they tell people how much profit they will make, SC will invite them for coffee

analysts will formulate future earnings based on these assumptions. some will follow the guidance closely, some will give discounts on the numbers

I think institutions have already mostly withdrawn from glove counters and moved on the recovery theme counters leaving mostly retailers in the glove counters. Please correct me if am wrong...

NPRA1985, u are correct

partly la

big funds won't sell all, will still keep some, but just underweighting and look for new opportunities. this is how they work.

A lot of people only look at the particular stock but not the market as a whole.

If u look at the market, most people are cashing out from glove counters and buying other stocks. KLCI is up 25 points but glove counters in the red.

IB and big funds are underweighting the glove sector and switching to recovery sectors. They must react quickly if not they will be behind the rally.

my 2 cents
