I literally told you guys about this announcement but no one mentions it. Keeps talking about dividends. Who cares about dividends if the future profits are going to drop?

Further to our announcements dated 2 December 2021 and 7 December 2021, we wish to announce that Alliance Investment Bank Berhad had on 21 June 2022 obtained the Vesting Order from the High Court and on schedule to complete the transfer of its stockbroking business to Phillip Capital Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Phillip Futures Sdn Bhd) on 30 July 2022.



This announcement is dated 1 July 2022.

ISM Manufacturing numbers are bad but within expectations. Chinese supply chain recovery will probably bring inflation down by mid third quarter of 2022. Once inflation comes down, global CPI and headline inflation will plummet, bringing the global economy into a recession.

Commodity prices no longer move based on economic data. Crude oil together with vegetable oil (palm oil, rapeseed oil) prices go up due to geopolitical conflicts and political crisis (Russo-Ukrainian war). We are in the mid stage of a "commodity supercycle". A "commodity supercycle" usually lasts a decade, and we are merely 3 years into the cycle.

So, calling a significant drop in commodity prices is too EARLY and presumptious. You need to come up with better statistical models to forecast the prices with strict parameters and not just rely on economic data at this point. US recession probability in the next 12 months is inching towards ~approx. 45% and BoFA numbers are even higher. This will probably not be the case for Malaysia because inflation numbers are lower.

In essence, both of these scenarios are bad for the market. The best play right now is to hoard cash and allocate assets to fixed deposits and interest rate swaps (a bit too late to hedge). Commodity hedge arbitrage is very hard because the window of opportunity is getting tighter. Avoid anything until ISM Manufacturing index recovers and the next quantitative easing by Bank Negara (which will probably never happen for the next 5 years).

@AdCool Institutional investors and equity analysts betting against plantation. Plantation stocks were supposed to do well into Q2 2022 yet sell-side keeps pumping positive news to dump their bags on retail investors. The short-selling activity against plantation stocks is outrageous.

Calvin is just another sell-side analyst. His supporters are still parading his investment thesis. The people you should follow are VTrade, skoh888 not Calvintaneng. This guy is veteran "fox" on i3investor. Whenever a stock drops, he would tell the investors to buy his "recommended" stocks.

Bonia went up 500% after he stopped commenting on the forum. And now he claims that he recommended Bonia. Being right about a stock is worthless. The timing absolutely matters.

My argument is based on facts, not emotions. Just look at it yourself.

Tan Eng Kee sold 16 million shares in 2021. He only bought less than 2 million shares in 2022 at a lower price.

No one watches his videos but he likes to spam and promote his YouTube videos on i3investor. I watched James Ng videos and almost all of them are useless analysis. He likes to make videos on uptrend stocks and usually post these videos when the stock is trading at an all time high. Posts videos after he sold his shares.

But this time, he realized that he no longer controls the price movement.
