But since at that time, I thought that the RI was worth subscribing to, I bought a lot of OR's, about 800K at 9 sen apiece, plus the 17.5 sen rights price, it only cost me 26.5 sen per Sumatec rights share. I will be doing the same if I think this coming RI is worth subscribing to.

Why only talk about Sumatec? The general market (Bursa) is weak, so I would not expect any sustained recovery, if any, for any counter, Sumatec included. Better not commit your money for the time being.
