As no pacts materialised with Barisan choosing to stay neutral, the Sarawak Premier's Office issued a statement on Tuesday (Nov 22) clarifying that GPS would leave it to the discretion of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to appoint the prime minister.

The statement reiterated GPS' proposal of a pact comprising GPS, Perikatan, Barisan and GRS to form the next government reflecting a multiracial Malaysia, but did not name Muhyiddin as its choice of prime minister.

GPS also said the people's mandate must be respected amid the political turmoil in Peninsular Malaysia.

Agong made a mistake by agreeing to dissolve parliment. now he cannot make the same mistake by appointing DSAI and alienating the rest of the Malays who voted for PN.
