Rogers: Well, short sellers are good for any market that occurs. If something is really getting crazily priced, short sellers come in and prevent it from going too high.

It may go too high, but at least (short sellers) temper the rise. If they’re wrong, they just make the market go even higher because they have to cover (their short positions).

And on the other hand, if and when, whatever the item (is shorted) collapses, the short sellers have to buy. So that prevents it from going down too much because if it goes from 10 to 2, the short sellers come in and buy and it doesn’t go to one. The short sellers make it, just go to two.

So the short sellers temper moves on the upside and on the downside. Whether they’re right or wrong. So short selling is good for markets.

Many don’t understand short selling or what short sellers do.

There was a president in the United States named Richard Nixon. He could not understand it. He thought it must be illegal because he never quite understood what short selling was. We had another president named (Dwight) Eisenhower who didn’t even know it existed. He didn’t know what it was. So, I mean, these are high-level people in America. And short selling is not understood by most people. And even the people who figure it out, many of them get it wrong.

What's the Competitive Advantage of Malaysian Glove manufacturers, the number 1, competitor is Thailand not China lah!?
Only Thailand n Malaysia is no. 1/2 natural rubber producers.
So u analyze for what is the glove that's environmental friendly, the future of artificial gloves are phasing out, even nitrile glove, vinyl glove is phasing out already.
Something to do with natural biodegradable glove!?

As the U.S. enters the fourth year of the pandemic, the virus keeps mutating into more transmissible variants, making it even more difficult to control.
About 400 people are still dying a day from the virus and about 5,000 are being admitted to the hospital daily.

（吉隆坡29日讯）兴业研究维持橡胶手套业的“减持”评级，因缺乏短期催化剂，并预计需求最早要到2023年下半年才会回升。

兴业研究分析员Oong Chun Sung今日在报告中指出，业者目前仍无法确定手套分销商去库存活动的时间。

“在乐观的情况下，我们预计库存水平将在2023年上半年恢复正常，这是考虑到我们9月更新报告后的6至9个月正常化期。”

“近期业绩汇报会的摘要表明，分销商没有进行补货，因此我们对2023年上半年库存正常化的假设成立。”

同时，他表示，橡胶手套平均售价可能已经触底，但称平均售价放缓的步伐也继续缓和。

由于供需动态持续失衡且成本上升，兴业研究维持手套业的“减持”评级。

Oong指出：“尽管短期内市场整合后，平均售价疲软的步伐可能会放缓，但我们认为，在需求逐渐回升之前，次优的行业使用率将继续拖累手套制造商的赚幅。”

他补充，成本转嫁机制对业者来说仍具挑战。

In response to the surging cases in China, the United States, Italy, Japan, India and Malaysia announced this week they would increase health measures for travellers from China.

The lack of transparent data from China - particularly about viral genomic sequencing - is making it "increasingly difficult for public health officials to ensure that they will be able to identify any potential new variants and take prompt measures to reduce the spread", US officials said Tuesday.

India and Japan have already said they will impose mandatory polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing on all passengers from China, a measure Flahault said could be a way around any delays in information from Beijing.

Natural Latex Glove.
During the #80s/90s, all medical gloves are made of natural rubber.
Allergies was the reason, now mostly are synthetic rubber, like Nitrile, Vinyl n Polyethylene.
Natural Latex gloves are made from a natural rubber compound and are naturally biodegradable, the same can't be said for most nitrile gloves. Traditionally, nitrile gloves have not been biodegradable, as they're made from a synthetic compound that takes many years to decompose.
Probably a #100 years to be composted.
Nowadays because of environment friendly views, n climate changes, natural rubber glove are making a huge comeback.
TopGlov n others established glove producers, what the point employing so many R&D graduates for what reasons?!
Research already being done to deproteinized natural latex, to zero down allergies.
Plus natural rubber gloves are environment friendly, n can be biodegraded within #4/5 years.
Usually expiry date of natural rubber gloves are only #3 years.
China only Hainan Island having rubber plantation. Vietnam having some also.
Now the largest exporter of rubber is Thailand, Malaysia becomes second years ago.
So Malaysia needs to centralizes their latex production, to be more efficient.
TopGlov has natural latex mills in Southern Thailand, the world largest gest centralized areas in rubber cultivation or plantation.
So Thailand n maybe Vietnam is our future big competitors in glove production.

BEIJING, Dec 29 (Reuters) - Around 9,000 people in China are probably dying each day from COVID-19, UK-based health data firm Airfinity said on Thursday, nearly doubling its estimate from a week ago, as infections ripped across the world's most populous nation.

COVID infections started to sweep across China in November, picking up pace this month after Beijing dismantled its zero-COVID policies including regular PCR testing on its population and publication of data on asymptomatic cases.
Cumulative deaths in China since Dec. 1 likely reached 100,000 with infections totalling 18.6 million, Airfinity said in a statement. It says it uses modelling based on data from Chinese provinces before the recent changes to reporting cases were implemented.
Airfinity expects China's COVID infections to reach their first peak on Jan. 13 with 3.7 million cases a day...

PARIS: An explosion of COVID-19 cases in China as the country lifts its zero-COVID measures could create a potential breeding ground for new variants to emerge, health experts warn.
China announced this week that incoming travellers would no longer have to quarantine from Jan 8, the latest major reversal of strict restrictions that have kept the country largely closed off to the world since the start of the pandemic.

While the country National Health Commission has stopped issuing daily case numbers, officials in several cities estimate that hundreds of thousands of people have been infected in recent weeks. Hospitals and crematoriums have been overwhelmed across the country.
With the virus now able to circulate among nearly one-fifth of the world population - almost all of whom lack immunity from previous infection and many of whom remain unvaccinated - other nations and experts fear China will become fertile ground for new variants.

Antoine Flahault, director of the Institute of Global Health at the University of Geneva, told AFP that each new infection increased the chance the virus would mutate.
The fact that 1.4 billion people are suddenly exposed to SARS-CoV-2 obviously creates conditions prone to emerging variants, Flahault said, referring to the virus that causes the COVID-19 disease...
