CYBERJAYA: The Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii) has introduced two initiatives, namely Unified E-Commerce and E-Commerce Marketplace, to help entrepreneurs within the e-commerce ecosystem take advantage of opportunities for market expansion, locally and internationally.

MARii chief executive officer Datuk Madani Sahari said the Unified E-Commerce initiative enables the development of various aspects of e-commerce based on the unified commerce strategy, while the E-Commerce Marketplace is integrated with the Unified E-Commerce initiative that focuses on automotive and mobility sectors.

"These initiatives will serve as stepping stones for new business models to bridge business-to-business and business-to-consumer networks, thus expanding their markets to the right audience," he told reporters after the launching of the initiatives here today.

He said the Unified E-Commerce initiative places back-end commerce elements such as procurement, accounting, payment gateways, logistics, and inventory under one system using MARii Cloud Web Services.

The E-Commerce Marketplace platform will be configured to deliver a customised retail and service environment for automotive and mobility-based businesses, he added.

At the event, Madani, on behalf of MARii, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with PH Empire Holding Bhd on the enhancement of the Shopker e-commerce platform.

The MOU aims to enhance the discovery of local products and services as well as automotive and technology-based vendors within the Shopker vendor list.
