Dato' Chor Chee Heung began his career as a practising lawyer specialised in Business and Corporate Law for more than 15 years. He was then elected as a Member of Parliament for Alor Setar in year 1990.
In 1995, he was appointed as a Paliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Transport and he was then appointed as the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs in 1999.
