Mr Yap Wei Sam obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), United Kingdom in 2018. He is the eldest son of Tan Sri Dato' Yap Suan Chee, the Executive Chairman and a substantial shareholder of the Company. He started his career as an Executive with the Melati Ehsan Group in 2018, with involvement in the business development and corporate affairs/ administration aspects of the Group. Despite being new to his position, he is familiar with this industry. He had benefited from early exposure since the tender age of 15, through weekly site inspections with the Executive Chairman as well as yearly summer internship with the Group.

Since joining, he has been actively involved in a wide portfolio of construction projects and development schemes. He has also participated in the capacity of tender bidding as well as contract awarding processes. He has contributed invaluable ideas and support to numerous successfully implemented joint venture projects and business development plans for the Group. In other words, Mr Yap's new generation foresight and fresh perspective is an important component to the succession planning and future development of the Melati Ehsan Group.
