根据Tenaga 2016最新年报表示，将会在2017年进行Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), smart meter计划于340,000马六甲用户。

什么是Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), smart meter呢？

Advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) is an integrated system of smart meters, communications networks, and data management systems that enables two-way communication between utilities and customers. Customer systems include in-home displays, home area networks, energy management systems, and other customer-side-of-the-meter equipment that enable smart grid functions in residential, commercial, and industrial facilities.

实际上是, 通过以上计划TENAGA可以监控家庭和商业电力使用(real time)并可在系统中切断电力(无需去客户家里)，客户也可以使用手机监控他们实际电力使用情况(real time).

根据资料显示，Tenaga曾与Trilliant & Comintel, EnVery 和 Cyient合作研发Advanced Metering Infrastructure的计划。更在27/10/2015发表文告于850万 Tenaga用户关于Smart Meter Project。https://www.tnb.com.my/announcements/informed-customers-with-tnbs-smart-meter-projec

而Comintel 2016最新年报也有表示，该公司的smart meter目前正在通过认证过程(currently going through the process of certification)。

除此之外，Comintel花费大约RM20M于Comintel Green Technologies Sdn. Bhd.所研发的LED lighting products with build-in intelligence已经面市，该公司现在申请产品专利。
